7 years of updates. But Android 15 will still come first on the Pixel 9 with exclusive features. Then there’s the possibility of Google discontinuing 7yr support in year 2–3 like what they did with full res photo backup 😂
The stabilisation on the iPhone 15 is insane — if they had added that I would stay with the Pixel, but Ive decided ro move because I use my pixel for video, and Apple are the best at this
can’t wait for the full review! glad google got closer to small phone territory but still a hard market to find options for lol. Allison is great and reading/watching her coverage is toppp tier enjoyment in this tech world
Take ❤ From a Google lover
What does it even mean in practice to have OS updates on Android?
Extremely skeptical on the 7 year support.
lovely intro 👍
Google is right. iPhone in undeveloped countries is booming with the old devices. Google needed to respond to this. Seven years is very good.
Does it not have an sd card slot?
I wish it had pink in the pro
Cannot wait for Vergecast “what’s a photo” debate 😂😂😂
Looks great so far!! Wait for the full review🔥
All this new AI stuff is worrisome.
Can’t understand it’s phone review or review of reviewer face
These AI features are all so unnecessary and so depressing. When you quickly grab a picture with friends and its not perfect, someone’s not paying attention or not smiling, that reality is the reality of the situation and that’s what makes it special. If every portrait, selfie etc looked picture perfect like in a mediocre Netflix show (written by AI) we would stop taking photos and not bother with them. What makes a photograph a photograph is that it is a captured reality.
Also, AI wallpapers??? Prompts?? Just GOOGLE beach, or moon or whatever. Or use an artist’s rendition of something or a photo someone took, what the hell is wrong with google??? is this innovation in tech?
7 years of updates is good news.
Why no dex mode??? Only theme gimmicks!!!
Well done google
The most important tests are often never done which is signal tests and uptime tests. The Exynos modems for the Pixel 6 and 7 had major network issues. Had a Pixel 6 dozens of times a day no signal at all up to 20 minutes at a time on both ATT and T‑Mobile even in populated cities around DFW. Same sim cards in a $50 UMX phone didn’t have those issues. Got it RMA’ed same exact issue with a different Pixel 6 device inspected. Others had 3+ RMA’s and just ended up giving up selling the phone for a loss or traded it in which is what I had to do too. Google only offers to keep doing RMA’s. Every review for every phone should do signal DBM comparisons and other tests that are the main point of a phone.
