A report says people are feeling neck strain while testing the Vision Pro, but how much weight should we put on this story? CNET’s Bridget Carey balances it all with the release of Meta Quest 3 this week.

My specs weighs at 10 grams. My X Real weighs in at 72, and that feels heavy on your face. How would you feel putting on a 700 gram monster on your face ? No matter how good the tech is a 100 kilo laptop is actually not a laptop. Apple screwed up on this one.
Guess we’re gonna need F1-level neck training
0:45 the hmph segment got me cracking up, good stuff Bridget. I’m really looking forward to how Vision Pro evolves because I like the no compromise approach to the experience at least in hardware. Apple needs to let loose the software API and let developers do the most.
I’m waiting for iphone 4
you are the worst tech “reporter”
Vision Pro is the new HomePod.
the main reason why the vision pro is so heavy is mostly cuz… yk.. apple design.. i mean.. using aluminum and glass make it achieve a more premium feel but there is a reason why everyone uses plastic in vr headsets, its cuz is light, not because it is cheap.
i will buy vision pro 5th edition when vision pro 8 launches
till then , my gaming desktop is enough
You know, you could deliver all this information without the cringey acting
Weight is so important
I could listen to her talk about anything. I get the feeling that she is an incredible woman to know personally.
We all gon have that tyson neck frfr
Every time I watch her I get hypnotized. She is like a teacher who teaches you everything so smooth you don’t know you learned something. Big fan.
For the algorithm. 🤙
aside from social media influencers and people with too much money, i don’t see anyone else buying this thing.
I’m saying this again. As a designer, you should know that glass and metal are heavy. Why do you think all the other companies use plastic.
humanity doesnt need this
You know what doesn’t cause neck strain, costs no money, doesn’t need recharged and provides a high-resolution life-like display? Looking at the real world with your own eyes. Apple, just because you can doesn’t mean you should.
I mean yeah it’s like that with any VR headset unless you have the Bigscreen Beyond. That headset is significantly lighter than all of the other ones.
The future is computing away from your head, like the NReal air 2 glasses.
