My heart melt­ed from the sec­ond I’ve heard that voice❤❤❤ tbh, apart from Cav­il, TV show was a miss… So maybe Net­flix would wan­na redeem them­selves by doing the whole series ani­mat­ed with the voic­es from Witch­er 3 AND STICKING to the source material???😅😂

Here is a crit­i­cism of the show that sums up how i feel about The Witch­er: Blood Ori­gin , The prob­lem that under­scores the entire series is that there sim­ply was not enough time for the char­ac­ters or the plot to mature over four episodes. The Blood Ori­gin end­ing does not feel earned because the plot is so bad­ly under­de­vel­oped and the char­ac­ters fol­low woe­ful­ly gener­ic arcs. 

The Witch­er: Blood Ori­gin also seems to have rushed through its pro­duc­tion, which con­sti­tutes anoth­er case of under­de­vel­op­ment. The unnamed mon­ster that wipes out the monar­chies dur­ing the pilot episode is a par­tic­u­lar­ly bad exam­ple of CGI. The CGI issue is present through­out the series. 

Blood Origin’s Char­ac­ters Lack Depth , Anoth­er crit­i­cal issue for The Witch­er: Blood Ori­gin is that the char­ac­ters come off as one-dimen­sion­al stock fan­ta­sy char­ac­ters. uno­rig­i­nal char­ac­ters still come down to poor writing. 

As such, these new char­ac­ters require time on screen and rel­e­vant dia­logue to set up their back­sto­ries and make the audi­ence care about them. Instead, they are giv­en vague and gener­ic back­sto­ries that pro­vide min­i­mal depth and cause the show to feel unim­por­tant, cre­at­ing a mas­sive prob­lem for Net­flix. For exam­ple, Éile, also known as The Lark, is giv­en a very vague sto­ry about need­ing to redeem her­self to her clan. How­ev­er, it is nev­er clear what exact­ly she needs redemp­tion for. More­over, The Lark’s clan, as well as all the oth­er clans, are nev­er explained in any detail. Instead, they are sim­ply thrust into the sto­ry to pro­vide a paper-thin form of back­ground. With­out more infor­ma­tion about the Lark’s past, she comes off as just anoth­er fan­ta­sy war­rior seek­ing some sort of ambigu­ous redemp­tion. In fact, vir­tu­al­ly all the char­ac­ters in Blood Ori­gin come off that way.

Fjall Stone­heart, who ends up becom­ing the first ver­sion of a witch­er, is giv­en the same amount of min­i­mal back­ground. In the span of per­haps his first 5 min­utes of screen time, Fjall goes from a quick bat­tle scene, to sleep­ing with Princess Mer­wyn, to being expelled from his clan. His arc is accel­er­at­ed so much that his sto­ry is unable to take on any indi­vid­ual mean­ing. Fjall is essen­tial to the plot of Blood Ori­gin, as The Lark is, how­ev­er, nei­ther of them is impor­tant on their own because of their lack of depth. The char­ac­ters ulti­mate­ly come off as place­hold­ers in a loose frame­work of overused fan­ta­sy tropes.

Blood Ori­gin Lacks Orig­i­nal­i­ty , The afore­men­tioned lack of depth, in terms of the show’s char­ac­ters, the plot, and the world build­ing, caus­es The Witch­er: Blood Ori­gin to come off as painful­ly uno­rig­i­nal. Blood Ori­gin uses nar­ra­tion in an attempt to pro­vide depth and make the show feel more impor­tant, but this is sim­ply dis­as­trous. Jask­i­er appears briefly as the nar­ra­tor’s audi­ence, but that does lit­tle to make the show feel rel­e­vant, or make the nar­ra­tion any less corny. The mys­te­ri­ous nar­ra­tor also seems to be used in self-defense of the show’s lack of orig­i­nal­i­ty in a con­ver­sa­tion with Jask­i­er, but its defense only serves to under­score its lack of creativity.

The Witch­er: Blood Ori­gin ends up feel­ing like a col­lage of worn-out fan­ta­sy tropes dri­ven by a skele­tal plot. every­thing from the gener­ic plot to bor­ing char­ac­ter arcs, dis­plays the show’s sin­gu­lar under­de­vel­op­ment in all aspects of writ­ing and production

sea­son 3 char­ac­ter arcs & char­ac­ter­i­za­tion of the Witch­er is real­ly bad. its a sad waste of time. they turn GERELT into a side char­ac­ter in his own show. his action scene are good but the show bare­ly focus­es on him , which real­ly a shame because Gerelt is a cap­ti­vat­ing char­ac­ter as always. i thought the writ­ers might have con­cen­trat­ed on his char­ac­ter more but as usu­al the Witch­er writ­ers are clue­less. they turn Radovid into an annoy­ing LEX LUTHER type of char­ac­ter from Bat­man v Super­man: Dawn of Jus­tice. the writ­ers turn Emhyr var Emreis, The White Flame Danc­ing on the Bar­rows of his Ene­mies into an incred­i­bly bland bor­ing char­ac­ter. his dia­log is the worst. its com­plete­ly takes you out of the show. Radovid & Emhyr are two of great­est char­ac­ters & antag­o­nists in The Witch­er fran­chise , [ books , games & any­thing else ] , so it’s real­ly stinks that these char­ac­ters suck so bad in the show. 

if you know any­thing about BLOOD ORIGIN , then you know that Eredin Bréacc Glas the King of the Wild Hunt is kind of a weak­ling & real­ly non-threat­en­ing so that a waste of an antag­o­nist / vil­lain so i don’t have any hope of The Witch­er tv show being a real­ly cringe but enter­tain­ing tv show , but The Witch­er tv show its just awful , i don’t know how the writ­ers of the show made Thanedd Coup so dull. unin­ter­est­ing. bor­ing. tedious. tire­some. they tried to make this entire sea­son into GAME OF THRONE Lite , it bare­ly resem­bles Thanedd Coup. As for YENNEFER , she failed to apol­o­gize in any mean­ing­ful & sig­nif­i­cance way to GERALT or Cir­il­la for releas­ing dis­count baba Yaga , tak­ing CIRI to Cin­tra to be pos­sessed , YENNEFER does­n’t show any guilt for the Witch­ers who died in KAER MORHEN or any­thing. YENNEFER does try to shal­low­ly & half-heart­ed­ly apol­o­gize to GERALT for maybe a cou­ple min­utes in one episode if you add the total up but it lacks sub­stance & any type of con­vic­tion at all. As for YENNEFER apol­o­giz­ing to CIRI for tak­ing advan­tage of her trust & get­ting her pos­sessed , they have a one minute con­ver­sa­tion about it. I’m hon­est­ly not sure because it went by so fast that I can’t even say that’s what the con­ver­sa­tion was about. Then the writ­ers just hand wave the sit­u­a­tion & nobody brings it up again peri­od. As for YENNEFER actions in rela­tion to the plot sea­son 3 , it was estab­lished in almost the whole fran­chise that YENNEFER does­n’t care for pol­i­tics [ in the games YENNEFER only cares in rela­tion to sav­ing oth­er peo­ple, in the books YENNEFER is not that good at pol­i­tics & you get the gist that among the mages of the north Philip­pa Eil­hart & Vil­ge­fortz are excel­lent at pol­i­tics by com­par­i­son to YENNEFER & she only cares in rela­tion to her mag­ic school or sav­ing some­one , even in sea­son one of the show’s YENNEFER leaves pol­i­tics behind her ear­ly. So because sea­son 3 focus­es on a GAME OF THRONE LITE ver­sion of Thanedd Coup YENNEFER char­ac­ter real­ly suf­fered from the bad writ­ing espe­cial­ly after her char­ac­ter assas­si­na­tion char­ac­ter­i­za­tion of sea­son 2. Yennefer’s actions in The Witch­er sea­son 2 make some of her best moments in sea­son 3 feel unearned and very hard to believe. a mon­tage isn’t enough to make view­ers ful­ly buy that Ger­alt, Ciri, and Yen­nefer are a fam­i­ly. Tis­sa­ia tells Yen­nefer “You final­ly became a moth­er”, which could have been a tru­ly heart­warm­ing moment in the series had Yen­nefer not done what she did in sea­son 2 and had sea­son 3 not rushed through the fix­ing and build­ing of her bond with Ciri. “Yen­nefer, actor Anya Chalo­tra is able to play her as a sor­cer­ess who has come into her own. She’s not the unlik­able, some­what whiny char­ac­ter from Sea­son 2. She’s con­fi­dent, pow­er­ful, and more in line with how Yen­nefer of Venger­berg is sup­posed to be. The only issue is that there is too lit­tle sup­port­ing it. view­ers only get a short mon­tage and a cou­ple of oth­er scenes before Yen­nefer gets to this stage. The rest of the show assumes that’s enough for her char­ac­ter to be com­pelling. but it’s real­ly not. YENNEFER cos­tumes are ter­ri­ble in sea­son 3. its laugh­able. Philip­pa Eil­hart & Dijk­stra were under­uti­lized & don’t live up to their char­ac­ters at all. Vil­ge­fortz is decent but he’s going to be the most unsur­pris­ing sur­prise vil­lain ever because the writ­ers have been drop­ping real­ly unsub­tle hints since sea­son one. Vil­ge­fortz killing the mage in sea­son 1 & inter­ro­gat­ing Tis­seia about CIRI in sea­son 2 gave the sur­prise away. 

as for CIRILLA , she’s good but she’s only half as endear­ing , charm­ing , engag­ing & cool as her coun­ter­parts in the books & games. I like her a lot & her rela­tion­ship with GERALT is nice , even if I con­sid­er it dimin­ished by all the wast­ed poten­tial oppor­tu­ni­ties of sea­son 1 & 2. The writ­ers do this real­ly annoy­ing thing with her char­ac­ter where they write them­selves into a cor­ner so CIRI will con­stant­ly get caught by any & every­one after her , even after GERALT & YENNEFER tell her con­stant­ly & repeat­ed­ly to be care­ful & stay safe. It gets irri­tat­ing after a while. CIRI trains with mag­ic & dif­fer­ent ways of fight­ing for a bit but its so so to me because she gets inter­rupt­ed repeat­ed­ly so I don’t think of her as a great fight­er. A good one but not out­stand­ing. A prob­lem with her char­ac­ter is that the writ­ers are try­ing to por­tray her as a great phys­i­cal fight­er instead of a per­son who uses agili­ty , flex­i­bil­i­ty, mag­ic swords­man­ship to kick ass & Freya Allen looks thin & tall , in oth­er words not a strong phys­i­cal fight­er. The oth­er cri­tique I have about CIRI is that in sea­son 3 she’s just there , she does­n’t real­ly do any­thing plot wise , CIRI is like the Infin­i­ty Stones in Avengers Infin­i­ty War an impor­tant ele­ment of the plot but she’s iner­tia in her actions in the show. 

Let’s say these 5 episodes have more books stuff than the pre­vi­ous sea­son, but still not enough to call it an adap­ta­tion. I’m not inter­est­ed in watch­ing more of the Swich­er. I would­n’t mind if they actu­al­ly made improve­ments on the source mate­r­i­al but all the so called improve­ments were even worse than fan­fic­tion. So I’m not inter­est­ed in Lau­ren’s ter­ri­ble writ­ing & direct­ing. Peo­ple watch­ing Sea­son 3 of the Swich­er will just encour­age these Net­flix Morons to pro­duce more of this trash. I’m not watch­ing the CIRI & YENNEFER show.

I hate sea­son 3. Its gen­uine­ly the worst sea­son of tele­vi­sion in the last decade. Out­side of GOT. Besides the writ­ers are doing a Mar­vel style mul­ti­verse to explain the dif­fer­ent GERALT. The writ­ers don’t even know how to read because the Witch­er fran­chise has many dif­fer­ent worlds , not dif­fer­ent ver­sions of the same world. Plus if you know Blood Ori­gin , you know Eredin Bréacc Glas , the king of the Wild Hunt is real­ly non-threat­en­ing & is basi­cal­ly a joke so there is no hope of The show get­ting bet­ter. Things like this is why nobody cared about the writ­ers & actors strike. They have real­ly been mak­ing com­plete garbage tv shows recent­ly. Wil­low , She Hulk , Aso­ka , Rings of Pow­er , Vel­ma , Halo, Cleopa­tra , Blood Ori­gin & Secret Inva­sion. These are just the show’s I can remem­ber off the top of my head. There must be so many oth­ers. Peo­ple are sick of watch­ing ter­ri­ble tv. Hol­ly­wood is deter­mined to ruin it self & they have pissed the audi­ence off so much that peo­ple are hap­py that they be half the amount of tv shows from now on. Instead of 600 we get 300.
