Do you want to hide your online sta­tus on Insta­gram and pre­vent oth­ers from see­ing when you’re active? If so, this video is for you. In this video, I will show you how to turn off your active sta­tus on Insta­gram using the app or the web­site. This is a sim­ple and quick way to pro­tect your pri­va­cy and avoid unwant­ed messages.

By turn­ing off your active sta­tus, you can also stop see­ing the sta­tus of oth­er accounts you fol­low or have mes­saged. This means you won’t know if they are online or when they were last active. This is a trade-off you have to con­sid­er before dis­abling this feature.

To turn off your active sta­tus on the Insta­gram app, you need to go to your pro­file, tap the menu icon, tap Set­tings, tap Pri­va­cy, tap Activ­i­ty Sta­tus, and tog­gle off Show Activ­i­ty Sta­tus. To turn off your active sta­tus on the web­site, you need to go to your pro­file, click Set­tings, click Pri­va­cy and Secu­ri­ty, and uncheck Show Activ­i­ty Status.
