Sri Lan­ka was put to bat first in the first T20I. Sri Lan­ka man­aged to put up a com­pet­i­tive total of 160 runs on the board thanks to Hasaranga’s impres­sive 67 run knock. Afghanistan lat­er put up a bril­liant fight with Ibrahim Zad­ran lead­ing the bat­ting with an unbeat­en 67. How­ev­er, Afghanistan could not get over the line and Sri Lan­ka won by 4 runs.
