WTF why use cones and rotating discs, when it all would be simpler and easier to control/program with just rotating spheres. With spheres you no longer have that that tilting and rotating motions, you can now use spherical coordinates to program everything.

How bro turned Disney’s Secret Project into DIsney’s Project
I just suffered a terrible spinal injury that left me numb and almost paralyzed from the waist down. 10 months of intensive rehab and I’m able to walk with a walker and leg splints despite having almost 0 feeling below my waist. This type of thing would be amazing to help people like me learn to walk again because the equipment they do have available is quite primitive.

They can just get a vector they need at any point using a rotating dome, that is surprisingly elegant and clever. Even if that does not work well for VR, there are many more applications to this.
