Matty Benedetto is the creator behind @UnnecessaryInventions who has amassed millions of followers across just about every social media network. These inventions are what Matty describes as unique solves to first world problems, and they range from a pair of glasses with built-in sponges that soak up tears to a funnel that catches falling ingredients from a burrito and neatly sorts it into a taco below. It’s these unique solves that have kept folks returning again and again to Matty’s video content for that last five years. In this first episode of my new video series, Full Frame: Creators, that profiles internet creators I spend a whole day with Matty to figure out how he makes his inventions and how he makes a living from posting about them. #Creator #Inventions

What is your favorite Unnecessary Invention?
Absolutely love you and the Verge team are doing this series. Matty is so good
Excellent. I would interview Taryl Fixes All.
Matty is a genius. He’s a “stop what you’re doing and watch” creator for sure.
This great bud🎉
Amazing series Becca!
Looking forward to the series 🙌🏻
Awesome vid spotlighting Matty and the awesome Unnecessary Inventions channel! This series is a great concept and Becca really nailed the execution putting this together, hyped for future episodes!
Subscribed! Great piece and perfect length to watch over lunch. Cant wait for more.
Becca is the Messi of The Verge
I have a question Becca: this format greatly highlights and depend on your personality. But it’s published on the Verge channel, not your own. Is it a personal choice to not go independent? (for freedom of choices, less dependency on brands, etc)
Becca this is so good!! So interesting. Look forward to the continuation of this series.
Amazing idea for the series!
Great start of a great series! Love Matty!
This was amzing 😊. Great job Becca as always.
Very nice concept 👍🏼
Is it just me or does he look like Mario?
Great concept. Great first episode. Wish list: Sean Evans – Hot Ones
Next episode idea: how does Jake Carlini put his videos together?
Great Job Becca!
Great vid! Looked like you had great fun filming it Becca!
He’s a modern reincarnation of Freddie Mercury.
What a great video. I love his little trick of putting things in his video that the audience will react to in the comment section. That is genius. For another video, I wish you could do Guy Raz. Thanks so much!
Please interview Simone Giertz!!
Editing while filming is insanity 😂
as a local to the town his studio is from its so weird to see restaurants and stores ive been to and seen in a video
Thank you SO MUCH for that creator portrait. I’m following Matty since it beginnings on Instagram. It was so nice to get a feel how he works.
