Exceptional hardware, great battery life, incredible screen, so thin and so light, but the M4 iPad Pro, just like every iPad, comes with some software limitations. Apple is on a mission to prove that the iPad can be used for professional work. That includes releasing its own professional apps like Final Cut Pro for iPad, Logic Pro for iPad. This year, Apple is updating both, but is also releasing a brand new standalone video-only app called Final Cut Camera. #Apple #Technology

Which features do you desperately want on the iPad version of Final Cut Pro?
iCannotKillMacbookPadYetCuzMoneyGud Pro
I know you have tried. But I have also tried with so many softwares that I now regret purchasing because I could never use them after the first few hours. I just use my laptops
Damn man, this video is 10x more beautiful than the app deserves…
Great Video appreciate how you explained what you use it for too. Thanks for sharing.💯✌️
I agree with all your comments. What Final Cut Pro for iPad does, it does very well. The UI is excellent and processing is efficient. However, the feature set is incomplete. Missing is the ability to use third party LUT for log processing and effects that optimize for stabilization and video noise/sharpness. Color correction and grading is done with sliders which reduces to a lot of trial and error. The philosophy seems to be that these functions are best done in camera; nice sentiment but not completely pragmatic. For time being will pass on subscription until feature set is further along (if it ever gets there).
Gpu faster than m2 4x? Hardver 8k better m2 3x?
everytime i search for finalcut pro for ipad, all you guys talk about is the multicam. i want to know how to edit movies on the ipad first. can you guys do that?
so basically no external drive support.. got it. Useless
That sweatshirt is god awful 🤮
Until Apple sort out file management, both within final cut and within the files app in general, anybody saying this is a pro device is simply wrong. For the record, I’m writing this on a fully spec out iPad Pro M4 13 inch so I know what I’m talking about.
Been using Lumafusion for a few years and love the effects they offer. Is there a way to add more transitions to FCP on the iPad?
Being in post production or even for general use. Is there a reason why you went with the standard display versus the nano-textured?
The M4 iPad is amazing !!
Can it handle edit 4k and 8k videos with LUTS, Titles etc without lags?
I will never again use a iPad for video editing. It’s a terrible experience. I’d rather get a MacBook than a iPad
Have you seen any improvement in video exports between a M1 or M2 iPad Pro and the M4 iPad Pro? Thanks!!
If so, what is the rough order of magnitude of improvement?
You cannot seperate audio files
Wow, I was looking for a good video on using Final Cut Pro for beginners, I’m getting the M4 iPad Pro tomorrow and you answered literally all my questions so good. Thank you so much!
It doesn’t seem… tooooo much different from iMovie 🤔
Say what you will about iMovie- it’s stable as heck. I really want Final Cut Pro 2 to be better tho because working between my camera and iPad is just sooooo much faster than a Mac computer
I only use iPad to watch video, check email, look at pictures, draw, and scroll through websites …nothing else
I understand they make a ton of money from the App Store but we need better desktop applications and better & reliable file management! There’s not even a safely remove option. And the lackluster file management also somehow pertains to cloud storage which is also unrealizable and buggy to work with on iPad
iPad M4 pro -> 1k nits, iPhone 15 Pro Max -> 3k nits… huge difference. Would not spend that kind of money on an iPad until they fix this right off the bat. Watch dark scenes from a movie in Apple TV on an iPad M4 pro and this becomes painfully obvious how the HDR falls far short in showing decent clarity in low light scenes.
I’m thinking of leaving Apple because I don’t agree with them holding all their products back to control their consumer. They’re no longer pushing innovation forward. They’re limiting for max profits
Super Video Thank you for that 🙂
2 Questions:
Is it possible now to have a complete project on a external ssd and work from it?
And can i import own luts?
I´m thinking about getting the ipad to make some small basic edits, or to check the footage already at first place. But i always film in LOG. Actually with the Osmo Pocket 3 DLOG
Thank you 🙂
I find I need to pair InShot (which I LOVE) with FCP. A really good duo.
I want to go back to video editing on the iPad Pro but Im still not sure if i want to go with the 11” or 13”… is the Final Cut pleasent to use on the smaller screen? I travel kind of often and i write a lot so i wonder which version should i buy considering the huge price of the 13” :/
cap cut is the best
I have recently just in the last two or three weeks and countered problems editing with my M2 iPad Pro. The app crashes frequently, even when rendering to the point where I lost an entire project because it would not render and I had to close out I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the softwareand I don’t understand why it’s not working anymore but my running theory is that ever since this new software update it’s basically screwed over all the M2 users
I really like FCP iPad’s outstanding background removal tool, for my simple one camera videos that involve baackground replacement without green screen. I was hoping to use the iPad version of FCP 2 for all of my editing, but I see, thanks to your review, the iPad version’s limitations. So I’ll keep doing my background removals on FCP IPad — but export the files — and finish up with DaVinci Resolve for iPad which has adjustment layers, terrific folder management, compound clips etc etc — and makes much better use of my external ssd drive. The entire project, including all its folders, project videos and graphics and other assets, can live on the SSD and not touch iPad’s internal storage Hopefully a future iPad FCP version 3 will address these issues. We’ll see! …Rowby.
I see the WNDRD Sling in the video! which size did you get to fit the iPad Pro? Asking for a friend 🙊
Best method for video noise reduction? I’m noticing there isn’t a grain removal feature in Effects.
hey buddy im pretty sure you can use an external drive
What size of iPad Pro is that?
They are charging for it now. Wth
Love your honest review.. In reality, it’s super true.
I have the M4 pro 11 inch and honestly, it reminds me of the same experience I had with windows RT. I’m working with da Vinci resolve for iPad. The problems you’re having with final cut managing files are the same the rest of us are having with da Vinci resolve. It’s a problem with the iPad operating system and methodology, not with the software which works fine on other operating systems. Apple believes if they annoy me enough on the iPad, but I’ll buy a MacBook but that’s not true. I’ll go back to my Lenovo yoga C9 40 before I buy a MacBook. I bought the M4 pro because of its processors and excellent energy efficiency. If Apple would make a MacBook with a touchscreen, I would buy it in a heartbeat.
