Most Prepaid throttle after 30 or 40gB
Postpaid=Prison;
Prepaid=Freedom.
I don’t know about anyone there but Ive always used prepaid because it’s my way when I’m ready
mostly prepaid here is better, more data, more everything. postaid used to get phones along with the service. until several years the phones were locked witch sucked.
also postpaid services suck coz carriers make the bills bigger whenever they wanna
I have used US Mobile for a while now and get perks. I think the appeal for most is the “free phone” or the way to finance the phone. You can’t afford to pay for it, you don’t need it. Stick with a cheaper phone or keep the one you have longer.
I dumped my old ISP and use my Visible unlimited hotspot to stream everything on my Roku. 480p is DVD quality and all most people need. The hotspot works great with computers too. Every family member can carry their ISP with them and avoid public Wi-fi for laptops. No one should give their Social Security number to a postpaid carrier for overpriced service when they keep getting hacked.
The top 2 AT&T plans are the same but you choose HBO Max vs more hotspot data
I use Unlimited 5g . At 18.69 $ for 336 days in india .
I use Mint for my primary because tmo is the best in my area. I also have a sim active under the boost ultra program for $25 a month for unlimited everything but I find the speeds to be a bit lower in my area compared to tmo
❤❤❤
Love Visible!
indian prepaid has more perks that postpaid 😅
Watching this on my prepaid Samsung A51. A phone that I got (a few years ago) for a fraction of its full MSRP. It also works great as a standalone WIFI device. You know, if you wanted to use it like an Android version of an iPod Touch. 😊
8:54 I got a new moto g power 5g(2024) for $49, month of service included. Unlocks 60 days after activation. Crazy for a cell that launched at $300 just 3 months ago.
I am using US mobile. 44 a month and 100GB and 50GB hotspot. But now you can switch between Verizon 5g and TMO 5g as much as you want. Visible is the only truly unlimited. But only the $25 tier. The $45 one is not truly unlimited. I think Boost unlimited might also be truly unlimited. The rest get throttled after 50 or 30GB.
Pre-paid, the Freedom to jump to whater carrier you want (assuming your phone support both GSM and CDMA, or just switching to another company that uses the same towers). on the fly and BYOB, even if you bought an brand new unlock phone (doesnt have the be the Big name US brand phone; Apple, or Samsung)
T‑Mobile has better phones and at lower prices. Unless you buy your own phone.
Google Fi is the longest I’ve ever been a prepaid customer. Not even thinking of moving my family to a discounted plan under my job
Switched from AT&T to Google Fi. No access charges for tablets, watches & great deals on devices especially at launch, flagships & mid range.
I’m just glad that all prepaid carriers allow you to use unlocked phones.
prepaid is the goat
i’m in the uk and pay £4.90/month for unlimited calls and texts and 5gb data. i am 73 and only use the data to look up the bus availablity. i gave up my landline as it was costing a lot more than the mobile contract.
I’ve been on prepaid for about 10 years on Verizon. I used to get 500mb of data and another 500 for auto pay 😅 not I have unlimited everything. The only thing that I don’t like about prepaid is that I have to pay full price for the phones if I switch.
Deprioritized data is very real. When bringing your own phone, you always have to make sure it’s compatible with the network you’re bringing it to. Just because it’s gsm, doesn’t necessarily mean it will work. Also good luck at getting a high end phone that’s been massively subsidized, on prepaid.
Been on visibles 25 plan for over a year now and I’ve been happy with it !
visible+ is $45 regularly. why would you put $25 and put an asterisk. it’s ONLY a 1 month discount.
people can get duped. do better man. jeez.
U.S. mobile has perks but it requires to have 3 or more lines since they don’t offer any multi line perks for individual plans. I use cricket wireless and my data is not throttled the only time the internet is slow is when there is barely any coverage. Cricket wireless is my primary pre-paid carrier and I have u.s. mobile on the verizon network as my secondary pre-paid carrier. I even got rid of comcast and switched to century link and have better and more reliable home internet than comcast at a way lower price than what comcast was offering. I have 940 mbps for download speeds and 940 mbps upload speeds with century link for $60 for 12 months since I went thru chat support to adjust the price from $75 to $60 a month for 12 months. I got fed up with comcast overpriced home internet and unreliable home internet since I had to constantly unplug and plug in the modem and router 2 to 3 times a day. The comcast app only supports live tv over a home wifi connection since I tried my mobile hotspot and it did not work and my unlimited mobile data and it did not work for watching live tv. I even switched to dish network and I can watch live tv over my unlimited mobile data from the dish network app. I’m still trying to figure out how to watch live tv in 4k from the dish network app since there are some channels for watching live tv in 4k on the dish network app. I have the sony xperia 1 iv android phone with it’s 4k 120 hz oled display and I wanna be able to watch live tv in 4k with my unlimited mobile data on my phone when I’m not at home or not connected to wifi.
I have a grandfather AT&T postpaid plan that gives me HBO Max. The benefits of my opinion for postpaid plans is the discount that you get for having more than one line. In my case I have five lines and they’re $23 apiece.
Unlimited postpaid is 35€ per month here in Spain
in my country , if you using postpaid you must paid around 7$ for subscription + your usage, but if you using prepaid you reload your balance based on your needs, different form US operator, prepaid and post paid have different operator in here the same operator have pre/post option, there is no such thing as unlimited data post/prepaid, the service quality also the same so is no benefit to choose postpaid. We here very rarely buy locked phone cause they are more expensive than the unlocked one weird but that’s the fact (ex locked s24 ultra cost around $1200 with Value added service from operator, unlocked one cost around $ 1100)
As an example you said someone could call visible customer service, however, customer service is only available via chat in their app. Most if not all of the other prepaid carriers do offer a phone option, but visible does not have a phone number you can call for help.
Been with Visible for a while now, ever since Cricket cut my hotspot. Visible is great with unlimited hotspot.
Pixel 8 Pro running on Mint and Google Fi simultaneously.
..thanks for making this video..
Been doing prepaid since 2008. Im on Cricket now, I have been with all prepaid services, Metro by T‑Mobile, Total by Verizon, Verizon prepaid, AT&T prepaid, T‑Mobile prepaid, Virgin Mobile, and Boostmobile. etc. Ive never had an issue with service. Dont care for perks.
I’ve been on a mvno service that once had Sprint and Verizon. Then they moved to the T‑Mobile network after the merger with Sprint. And they give you a chance at free service. I haven’t paid a cellphone bill in years on their network. I love MVNO’s ❤💪🏿
You jumped right over hotspot, sure many people don’t need unlimited hotspot like I do but for $90 and 3 lines of unlimited on the T‑Mobile network and never getting severely deprioritized even after 1.1 TB I’m kinda surprised T‑Mobile hasn’t said you use too much data and we don’t want your business but I really don’t have to worry about that either they’re unlikely to ever throw out a long term customer on an old plan.
Latency. It matters for gig work. Latency is not bandwidth.
Just swapped to us mobile from T‑Mobile. Paid off my phone and went from 81/m to 25/m. Lost the ad supported Netflix but I just paid the 7 bucks a month and still come out way ahead. Saving almost 500 a year now.
0:48 this is actually a shockingly common misconception that, just like anti-prepaid bias, is over 10 years old. While this is how postpaid service used to work, the big three all bill in advance on their postpaid wireless plans, so in reality they’re actually just overly complicated prepaid plans with a credit check. When hearing this, people are often surprised to look at their Verizon, AT&T, or T‑Mobile bill, and realise that whatever date or billing cycle is dated at the top, the contents of the bill actually contain charges for the cycle ahead of it. It was a silent shift carriers made to reduce their risk by still making you pay in advance in case you default while still having you agree to a credit account so they can grab you by the balls with expensive plans and phone financing agreements.

I’ve been on pre paid for years. You idiots get a post paid plan of $40 then get $15 in tax’s on top of that. My prepaid is $45 and I pay $40 because I auto renew and no tax’s on top.
I go postpaid because I can’t afford to shell out $1k at once for a phone but I can afford to finance one
GREAT and timely video. I will be sure to share. I just switched last weekend from TMO postpaid ($55/mo) after 9 years. Now with Visable basic for $15/mo with TMO port out/bring your own promotion. Getting horrible data speeds on my galaxy s23fe unlocked. I will be porting a second line to the s23 on an esim on TMO network. Have not decided which carrier. After asking TMO for years for a cheaper plan and getting nowhere, now they say they could have switched me to a pre-paid unlimited for about $25/mo. Still exploring my options.
Postpaid makes absolutely no sense to me. Pay $70+ for 1 month or 240 for a year.
I’ve used StraightTalk’s gold unlimited plan for a while and something they’ve added last year was a Walmart+ membership to the gold and platinum unlimited plans. Also, since the Verizon acquisition of tracfone and thus StraightTalk, they also now have family plans.
Absolutely the best explanation of this topic on the net. Clear, articulate, and encompassed all the questions I had.
I got a prepaid plan.
