Im sooo sick of the flagship podcast joke.
iPhone boo.
Hey happy birthday 🎉
They could start a tech news tech company.
Iphones have cool things, but let’s face it. They’re boring.
What about Aws for b2b solutions can’t believe that wasn’t even considered 😂. You guys would literally own the internet 😂😂😂.
Alex coming in with the Volcano acquisition — I knew she was my favorite for a reason XD
It blows my mind that they took Amazon’s tablet business instead of AWS. That’s the money faucet
I love this episode. However, I do not think you should have been able to pick Creative Cloud since it is the majority of Adobe’s business. Picking premiere could of been fine, but not the entire creative cloud
Such a fun episode! One of the best so far!
I’m genuinely curious is there a reason for a video intro when the episode itself is not a video?😂
5:50 lool
Plex?
Give us video version David. It’s much more captivating and interesting. Upload audio only to other platforms that’s fine but this youtube
I cannot believe you guys chose Google chat when you already have the iPhone, which comes with iOS which comes with FaceTime and iMessage. You could make them work together more seamlessly, make them interoperable with Signal WhatsApp, Zoom, Teams & more. You could make an Android, Chrome, and Windows desktop version — hell, trow in Linux! It could become a super app like WeChat. Of course you’d have to rebrand everything. The new OS that would work on the phone, the tablet, and your desktop would, of course be called CranberryOS — a reference to your very own Alex Cranz & the heritage it all builds upon. Cranberry Messenger, I mean the possibilities are endless. The ecosystem would be referred to as “Cranberry Sauce” — and just think of the Black Friday post-Thanksgiving marketing!!
ASML mentioned!
Now make a multi step poll and see if the viewers make a better competitor with the remaining parts of the companies
“Rivian is now an in-app purchase on the iPhone.” perfectly sums up David’s humor and I LOVE IT.
This is one of the best Vergecasts ever. It feels like a Topolsky episode
Just Add Dieter
I know these guys are having a good time and being funny, but it seriously worries me how readily they joke about being monopolists and “cashing out” of the business in just a few years. They may think it’s all fun and games, but I guarantee that Jeff Bezos joked about the same thing–and now look where we are!
Still, I mostly agree with their choices. From a “let’s make the tech landscape a better place” perspective, it’s very encouraging to hear them pick gChat over YouTube and Kindle over AWS. I kinda wish they had taken Starlink, since the possibilities of global internet connectivity are mind-boggling. Maybe I need to make my own podcast…
Video with you guys is so much more engaging than audio only.
Whatever you guys do, please ensure all your devices carry USB‑C! It should be a punishable offence to release any gadgets with micro-USB when $20 Vapes have USB‑C by the dozens!
Not gonna lie, you’ve got an amazingly appealing Silicon Valley Civ/Monopoly game concept here that all power nerds would probably love to play (I know I would)
Where are the old verge videos
This should be yearly
