When Companies Copy Each Other…

I think Mar­ques stretched it too far this time by list­ing down things that were already there in the galaxy watch­es for gen­er­a­tions as “lift­ing from the watch pro”

I would have want­ed to see them stock to cir­cu­lar and not this squig­gly square shape. Looks weird.

The thing is; we all agree all com­pa­nies copy each oth­er at a cer­tain lev­el, but the dif­fer­ence is that when Apple does it, they almost always give the prod­uct, ser­vice or what­ev­er a turn­ing point, mak­ing it feel like an Apple prod­uct. This case is just ridicu­lous imo. I will nev­er take seri­ous­ly a com­pa­ny that spends all of its days mock­ing Apple, and then just make the exact same prod­ucts with no sec­ond thoughts (like the ear­buds its just shame­ful come on…). Any­way, this only proves that apple prod­ucts (some bet­ter than oth­er com­pa­nies, some not) are at least Apple products.

I just don’t under­stand why an Android com­pa­ny added a fea­ture or design that’s like Apple got crit­i­cised so much, but not the oth­er way around. In fact, Apple copied more from Andri­od and Win­dows Phone.

Sam­sung has been using the “Ultra” brand­ing for their top prod­uct lines ever since dis­con­tin­u­ing their Note series. This brand­ing now extends to their Galaxy Watch series, sig­ni­fy­ing a pre­mi­um, high-end prod­uct line.

For exam­ple, the use of an orange but­ton and marine-relat­ed fea­tures in their watch­es might remind users of sim­i­lar ele­ments in their oth­er broad­er device range. Sam­sung has used orange accents in sev­er­al oth­er products:

On the oth­er hand, Apple’s iOS has his­tor­i­cal­ly adopt­ed var­i­ous fea­tures ini­tial­ly intro­duced by Android. Each new iOS update often includes func­tion­al­i­ties that were first seen on Android devices, high­light­ing the con­tin­u­ous exchange of ideas and fea­tures between the two lead­ing oper­at­ing systems.

Apples adop­tion of the Ultra tag and var­i­ous design fea­tures reflect the broad­er indus­try trend of cross-influ­ence and inno­va­tion Sim­i­lar to Sam­sung’s orange button .

Basi­cal­ly Sam­sung becom­ing like a Chi­nese com­pa­ny lol

hon­est­ly the lack of rotat­ing bezel is what kept me from get­ting this. Sam­sung was offer­ing $350 for my 6 Clas­sic on top of a $50 cred­it when using the Sam­sung app to order, so it brought down the price a ton… but.. alas.. no dice.. maybe next year!

So after 10y noth­ing new. Still shit bat­tery and only “soft­ware fea­ture” that any 50€ crap­per could do. The Sam­sung cush­ion design is real­ly hor­ri­ble. They should’ve copied the orig­i­nal Seiko design if so.

Inno­va­tion died when steve died and u can say he was­nt a inno­va­tor but i will rebut­tal and say “atleast he gave peo­ple the free­dom to make risks” and to that.. thats a inno­va­tor. Dude invest­ed so much to ideas peo­ple had the oth­ers thought where dumb or could­nt work and just went at it to get fund­ing etc and got it done…

I think, only the orange scheme, band designs, and to some extent, the quick but­ton is copied. The rest like watch faces cus­tomiza­tion, app menu, hand ges­tures have been around for many years, and even some of them were there in the tizen time.
The choice of body mate­r­i­al can not be called copy­ing, and the ultra name is sam­sung top of the line nam­ing con­ven­tion on phones, tablets, and lap­tops. So it com­plete­ly makes sense here regard­less of what apple named their watch.

All I want from my watch is to show time and maybe date, so I’ll stay with my $50 Casio

I have both! They r pret­ty much the same watch. Just dif­fer­ent OS. A reg­u­lar apple watch, or a reg­u­lar watch 7 is per­fect­ly fine. These ultra watch­es r not a must have in my opinion.

Sounds to me sam­sung tried to inno­vate but gave up because con­sumers are stu­pid. So fuck it
