Real lady super­star of Malay­alam is Man­ju War­ri­er! Some fool­ish peo­ple say Urvasi is the lady super­star, but these peo­ple don’t know the mean­ing of the word “super­star”! Urva­su is a great actress and favorite actress for many peo­ple includ­ing me, but it does­n’t mean she is a super­star. Is any­one call­ing Thi­lakan, Nedu­mu­di Venu, or Jagathy as super­stars? Super­star means that actors should be the main char­ac­ters of the movie and out­per­form oth­er actors in that movie and it should be a suc­cess in a repeat­ed pat­tern. Urvasi was not the cen­tral char­ac­ter in many suc­cess­ful movies with Mohan­lal, Jayaram etc until her sec­ond come­back in Achu­vinte Amma. But Man­ju was a super­star with­in just 2 years at the age of 18, when Urvasi was only laugh­ing or cry­ing in most o her ear­li­er movies! Movies like Sum­mer in Beth­le­ham, she out­per­formed both Jayaram and Suresh Gopi. In Kan­mad­ham, she out­per­formed Mohan­lal, In Kan­nezhuthi pot­tum thot­tu, she out­per­formed Thi­akan and Biju Menon, and out­per­formed Jayaram, Suresh Gopi and oth­ers in every movie, except Aaram Tham­bu­ran Mohan­lal had an oppor­tu­ni­ty to shine, but still she per­formed great in it. Mam­moot­ty was scared to act with her by think­ing if she out­per­form him in that movie! In Man­ju’s sec­ond innings, she missed the great writ­ers and direc­tors which gave her won­der­ful characters.
