The 54th Kerala State Film Awards were announced today, August 16, at around 12 pm. Prithviraj Sukumaran won Best Actor while Urvashi and Beena R Chandran shared Best Actress. Mammootty’s ‘Kaathal — The Core’ was honoured as the Best Picture. Blessy won Best Director for his film ‘Aadujeevitham’. Veteran director Sudhir Mishra was the chairman of the jury.
Director Priyanandanan, cinematographer Alagappan, director Lijo Jose Pellissery and writer NS Madhavan were part of the jury. In the first phase, 160 films were shortlisted, which was reduced to less than fifty in the second phase.

ഇയാൾ 16 കൊല്ലം എടുത്തതിനു ഞങ്ങൾ എന്തു പിഴച്ചു. എത്ര വലിയ സിനിമ ആയാലും 2 കൊല്ലം മതി എടുക്കാൻ. ഇയാള് ജെയിംസ് കാമറൂൺ ഒന്നും അല്ലല്ലോ? കണ്ണുകളിലെ തീക്ഷ്ണത കുറക്കാൻ ലെൻസുകൾ കിട്ടും മാഷേ. ഇതൊക്കെ ആലോചിച്ചിട്ടാവും ഇയാൾ 16 കൊല്ലം കളഞ്ഞത്. പൃഥ്വിരാജ് കഷ്ടപെട്ടതൊക്കെ ശരി തന്നെ പക്ഷെ അപ്പോൾ മുഴുവൻ ഷൂട്ടും നടന്നില്ല എന്ന കാര്യം എന്തിനാണ് മറച്ചു വെക്കുന്നത്. പിന്നെ പൃഥ്വിരാജിൻ്റെ അഭിനയം.….യാതൊരു തന്മയത്വവുമില്ലാത്ത വളരെ യാന്ത്രികമായ ഒരു അഭിനയ ശൈലിയാണ് അദ്ദേഹത്തിൻ്റെ. വളരെ ചെറിയ ഒരു റെയിഞ്ചിലുള്ള കുറച്ചു കഥാപാത്രങ്ങൾ മാത്രമേ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് ഭംഗി ആയി അവതരിപ്പിക്കാൻ പറ്റൂ. ആടുജീവിതം നല്ല ഒരു സിനിമ ആണെന്ന് എനിക്ക് തോന്നുന്നില്ല. കൊറേ പാട്ടുകൾ ഒക്കെ കുത്തിക്കേറ്റി മൂന്ന് മണിക്കൂർ വലിച്ച് നീട്ടി ഒരു പക്കാ മലയാള പടം.

സംവിധാനത്തിൽ പല സീനുകളിലും അപാകതയുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. ബ്ലസ്സി ’ ക്ലൈമാക്സിൽ verification നു നിൽക്കുന്ന പൃഥ്വി രാജിന് നല്ല ആരോഗ്യവും തുടുത്ത കവിളും ഒക്കെ ഇത്ര പെട്ടെന്ന്? അങ്ങിനെ പലതും.
ഒരു extra ordinary performance ഒന്നും ആയിരുന്നില്ല അത് ’
കാര്യമായി competition ഇല്ലാതിരുന്നതു കൊണ്ട് രക്ഷപ്പെട്ടു.
പ്രോഡക്ഷനിലെ കഷ്ടപ്പാടുകളും, പൃഥ്വിയുടെയും, ഗോകുലിന്റെയും പ്രത്യേകമായ ഡെഡിക്കേഷനും മാറ്റിനിർത്തി, ഓഡിയൻസിന്റെ സൈഡിൽ നിന്ന് നോക്കിയാൽ ഒരു ആറുബോറൻ മൂവി. ഏറ്റവും മിനിമം ആ എസ്‌കേപ്പ് എങ്കിലും കുറച്ച് ത്രിൽ ഉള്ളതും സഹസികവുമാക്കാമായിരുന്നില്ലേ?

സംവിധായകൻ ബ്ലസിയുടെ ആടുജിവിതം എന്ന സിനിമ സെൻസർ ചെയ്തതു് 2023 ഡിസംബർ 31ന്. സെൻസർ ചെയ്യാതെ സിനിമ പ്രദർശിപ്പിക്കാൻ പാടില്ല എന്നാണ് നിയമം. 2024ലാണ് സിനിമ തിയേറ്ററിലെത്തിയത്. അതിശയം എന്നേ കരുതാവൂ 2023 ൽ ഏറ്റവും കൂടുതൽ ആളുകൾ കണ്ട സിനിമയായി ജൂറി തെരഞ്ഞെടുത്തത് ആടുജീവിതത്തെയാണ്‌.
2023 ൽ ആരും കണ്ടിട്ടില്ലാത്ത സിനിമയെ ഏറ്റവും കൂടുതൽ പേർ കണ്ട സിനിമയാക്കി മാറ്റിയ മായാവിദ്യ അപാരം തന്നെ. ഒരു സാഹിത്യ കൃതിയെ സിനിമയാക്കിയതുകൊണ്ട് സിനിമ നന്നാകണമെന്നില്ല. സംവിധായകൻ 16 കൊല്ലം പണിയെടുത്തു സിനിമ ഉണ്ടാക്കി എന്നതുകൊണ്ടും സിനിമ നന്നാകണമെന്നില്ല. എഴുപതു കോടി മുടക്കിയതുകൊണ്ടും മരുഭൂമിയിൽ ചിത്രീകരിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടും സിനിമ നന്നാകണമെന്നില്ല. എന്നാൽ ആരും കാണാത്ത സിനിമയെ ഏറ്റവും കൂടുതൽ ആളുകൾ കണ്ട സിനിമയാക്കി മാറ്റിയ ആ സംവിധായക മികവിന് സമ്മാനം കൊടുക്കുക തന്നെ വേണം.
