The pres­ti­gious Ker­ala State Film Awards for films sub­mit­ted in 2023 were announced today. It was said that 160 films were con­sid­ered for the var­i­ous awards, and it was one of the most­ly antic­i­pat­ed awards con­sid­er­ing the big-tick­et names in the nom­i­na­tions. Head­ed by Chair­man Sud­hir Mishra, the jury mem­bers include Ala­gap­pan N, Lijo Jose Pel­lis­sery, Sree­val­san J Menon, Priyanan­dan TR, C Ajoy, NS Mad­ha­van, Ann Augustine.

Aadu­jee­vitham was the big win­ner as it took home nine prizes, includ­ing nods for Best Actor (Prithvi­raj) and Best Direc­tor (Blessy). In fact, it was the third State award for both of them. Kaathal – The Core took home the Best Pic­ture award, and also received a Spe­cial Jury award for Sud­hi Kozhikode. Urvashi, who was ter­rif­ic in Ullozhukku, shared the Best Actress award with Beena R Chan­dran, whose stel­lar per­for­mance in Tha­davu won a lot of acclaim.
