The Galaxy S25 and S25+ should NOT EXIST! (Samsung Galaxy S25/S25 Plus review)

Traditionally, the Galaxy S line’s vanilla and Plus models should be the best way to experience a Samsung phone without shelling out for the Ultra. In 2025, though, the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25 Plus both fail to offer anything truly new. The few things that they do offer are software-based, so those features will inevitably come to older Galaxy phones. This makes it difficult to recommend anyone buy either phone when you could save hundreds of dollars by going for a Galaxy S24 or Galaxy S24 Plus instead and getting essentially the same experience.

Those upgrades that you say will not convince me to replace my beloved galaxy S23. I am not even a gamer to utilize that 8 elite chip. I need camera upgrades, not the same sensors from the S23.

You exaggerating on the exynos performance because the benchmarks YOU show here show it performing the same as the 8 gen 3

I 100% understand people who have 23/24 lineup but they also have to realise that there are people who have 6,7 to 8yrs old phones who will be blown away with this s25 lineup. Me 4 example, who has XS from 2018, just few days ago got s25 and expirience is mind blowing. I got 3x performance better battery, bit bigger screen, 120hz and so on.

    Yeah, it’s pretty meh.
For me the cameras are the biggest gripe. The zoom camera is now used in midrange phones half the price, and most start at 256gb of storage too. They didn’t even address the lens quality issues since the S22 days.
For Europeans the Snapdragon SOC is a nice upgrade from the Exynos one. I also love the new colours.
I just whish there was a bit more competition in the small flagship segment.

IMO, these phones are perfect for people who don’t upgrade yearly, who doesn’t want to spend so much money, and who still adore small phones. You won’t notice changes from the previous year, but three or four years prior, there’s enough changes to warrant an upgrade.

I really appreciate your efforts! A bit off-topic, but I wanted to ask: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How should I go about transferring them to Binance?

Samsung needed to update some of the cameras on the s25 as I have a s24 Plus and I also had a OnePlus 12 and the OnePlus 12 took better pictures than the s24 plus last year and so I’m sure the OnePlus 13 takes even better pictures. And so Samsung’s flagship phones have definitely fallen behind in the camera department without a doubt they’re just not equal to the rest of Android flagships

You are another person on YouTube commenting about discounts for the S24 series and this is not true. Been looking and Samsung, Best Buy and my carrier are still asking the original list price for the S24 models. Only discount I have seen is for the S24FE, so they have lost my business. I will keep my existing 5 year old Galaxy until it dies.

I wanted to buy a S24 Plus last year but since it was having the less performant and less efficient Exynos cpu in Europe I didn’t. I am glad they released S25 with the global Snapdragon. I bought the S25 plus. I disagree with your statement that Samsung should have not released these series and put the S25 Ultra on steroids, price included.
Maybe it was easier for you to say that S24 is enough in comparison if you live in America and get the Snapdragon regardless.

Okay, you know these phones needed to exist. They are objectively better than the S24 series, maybe not by much (depending on what’s important to you) but you can’t argue they are not better. If Samsung did not have smaller and cheaper flagships than the $1300 S25 Ultra, that’s when they would have really given the market to other brands. There are millions of Android lovers looking to upgrade this year, most not coming from last year’s phones, and getting the S25 series with the latest chips etc will be great.

Business-wise it would be the worst decision in the history of business to not release the S25/S25+ because they are only marginally better than last year’s models. Especially when you acknowledged that most people are holding on to their phones for years now and so those that get these phones will be blown away.

I think you reviewers are just too exposed to brand new phones all the time that you forget that nobody in the real world is comparing the S25 to the S24. You also are trying too hard to not accept that smartphones have matured and for most people they are just tools and they don’t need any experimental cutting edge stuff that might compromise utility. Most people are content with minor improvements that add up in a few years. To be honest, most people would hold on even longer to their phones if they got battery replacements. So please, when you talk about these phones, talk about them as if you’re talking to people with 3–4 year old phones.

Also, I live in a country where Samsung is the prefered brand and people would rather have a midrange Sammy than a flagship Chinese model. Even there in the West, we Android people like to think we are better than Apple sheep and think that we weigh different brands when most of us got one phone from one brand that was great and we stuck around. It’s common sense, if a brand has been reliable, why mess about with anything else. Fun fact, I have a friend, a Huawei lover who went to Pixel after the whole Google Mobile Services thing and he hates the Pixel to bits. He is always missing the way Huawei did things. Most of us are like that and I would argue Samsung fans are most like that in the Android world.

The base variant S‑series has always been my favorite Samsung phones. It’s friendly in hand and in the pocket, but as you are saying, Samsung has forgotten about it. They don’t regard it as a flagship but it truly is. If I don’t see any improvements next year I’ll be going for some of those Chinese international version phones

Coming from an S23+, I’d say the S25+ was a pretty significant upgrade for me!

Also, I don’t understand why folks criticize the hardware designs as ‘Boring’. What is it EXACTLY y’all are looking for at this point, huh? If something is at Peak design, should it be criticized as such?
