Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge: Frankenstein’s monster!

There’s a new 2025 Galaxy S phone on the block, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge! This phone’s claim to fame is how thin it is — thinner than any other Galaxy S device, ever. However, for Samsung to achieve that thinness, it needed to make some sacrifices, most notably with battery capacity and telephoto cameras. Are those sacrifices worth it to get a phone that’s impossibly thin? Also, does that justify the sky-high price of the new Galaxy S25 Edge smartphone? You be the judge!

What would YOUR “Frankenstein” Galaxy S25 look like? 👀
Samsung should have at least given a 3x Telephoto instead of the boring and downgraded UW.
Ultrawide camera from the Samsung s25+ not s25 Ultra
S25 edge
Si/C 4,700mAh (45W)
50mp ultrawide camera
And the rest
I thought Samsung was going to use this phone to utilise the new battery tech that is thinner, lighter and holds just as much power as a big battery. What a missed opportunity.
Lol we all know what Samsung did here. The S25 sales are poor this year so they’re sticking a bunch of surplus parts together and wrapping it up in new packaging to give the illusion of a brand new device. It’s the phone nobody asked for.
I can see battery life being a problem for this phone.
They did have an edge it was the one with that bent screen. I can’t rember what gen, think s7 edge sounds right. It was an ok phone, not sure I liked the edge display though.
Why they decided to use the word “edge” baffles me. Harps back to those godawful S6 edge phones that nobody really wanted and those who were foolish enough to buy one, hated them with a passion.
This phone does nothing for me whatsoever. Waste of money in both manufacturing and those tempted enough to buy it. I’ll bet the resale cost of a used one drops far quicker than other Samsung S25s. It’s a 👎 for me.
Samsung seem to be losing their way. Someone in the company needs to get a grip.
literally everyone wants rather a thicker phone with bigger battery and samsung just did not get it.
You are completely against Samsung. It is very evident in your review. I guess you just hate them. You review is very subjective.
Samsung should be increasing the battery size if they want to sell more phones.
It’s essentially half their soon to be released new folding phone.
What are the people at samsung smoking? That price is ridiculous.
3900mah?????? i won’t even think about it!!!!!
i really thought they made the cool nostalgic curvy screen
I pre-orded this the same day I heard about it. I will occasionally miss the telephoto. A thin, light phone with a large screen? YES! 🎉
This phone for 1100is so wack nothing about this phone is better then s25 ultra
I love the idea of a smaller phone, but what would stop me from getting this particular one is that the screen is still big. Too much to lose simply for a thinner phone, especially because for people with smaller hands it probably still won’t be the most comfortable experience.
So… let me get this straight… Samsung is calling “Edge” a phone that:
- doesn’t have silicon carbon battery and is actually the smallest and worst battery of the bunch
- doesn’t have s‑pen
- doesn’t have telephoto camera
- doesn’t have Gorilla Glass Armor on the front
- doesn’t have anti-reflecting coating
- starts at $ 1,099, more expensive than the S25 plus
Just to call it thinner??? More than a thousand dollars for this??? Why tho???
Wow. His comment about it maybe being too thin really shows how hard it is for people, once conditioned to a certain mindset, to be objective or open to change. You seriously thought you could break it with your hands?
Flip phones were some of the most fragile devices back when, yet no one ever mentions that. Because that never happened. We’ve been conditioned to believe that thicker, heavier, and more expensive phones are somehow “premium.” But that’s simply not true. Reviewers who can’t break out of their programming end up misleading people.
Think for yourself. Don’t let opinions like this influence you into believing their propaganda. Personally, I miss the days of smaller, thinner phones. Why we’ve accepted the idea of carrying a brick in our pockets or bags is beyond me.
This will be the dead of the FE version of the galaxy.
Samsung didn’t use a silicon carbon battery because they swell. There are other safety concerns. On such a slim phone, the last thing that you need is battery swelling.
My S25 Ultra is thin enough for me. However, this S25 Edge is genius and I think it will appeal to a different demographic. Great job, Samsung! 👏🏾👏🏾
No one asked for slimmer phones which have less battery capacity and less camera lenses. Apple and Samsung are doing it because they have run out of ideas at this point launching the same products each year with minor upgrades. Why should someone pay more for less features?
Battery life problem
Why does this phone exist. Nobody wants a thinner phone with a small battery
I want the ultra light 6.7 inch phone
Everyone just parroting what the media says at this point. Not all phone models are designed with you in mind, just move along and stop acting like a tech guru any chance you get.
Why does everyone harp on the 25w fast charging speed. If you use a faster charger ie 45w it super fast chargeie charge faster.
1000$ phone with still 25watt 😂😂, why is so hard to make it 5000mah wth 45watt! Its flagship cmon..,
you concentrate on the thickness but you forget the weight factor…
I have the S25 Ultra as far I can see, Ultra doesn’t share the 12MP Ultrawide. It had a 50MP, the one stuck in 12MP is the 3X telephoto.
This phone appeals to me with how sleek it looks, they keep it minimalistic yet futuristic. I used to have a Sony Xperia XZ1, that phone was considered very thin back in the days, and I loved the feeling of having something light yet powerful in your hands. I can care less about battery as I always carry a power bank with me anyway.
I would like an Ultra mini.
With 25 watts paired with that size of battery, it would charge quickly
Hey Man U guaranteed me the battery was not great and in tests it died while the ultra had 5% left… that battery is good af
U crazy this the best thing since sliced bread
🤣🤣🤣 u forgot the ultra is the first Frankenstein phone… they combined the s25 and cut the nuts of the note And bam
