General John Bell Hood sounds a lot like Adolf Hitler. A narcissist who was willing to sacrifice his soldiers for his own glory. What a disgrace!
Looks like General Hood, has reached his breaking point
At Franklin this week. This is very helpful.
Hood’s decision to sleep during a major battle is cowardly.
GROAN! Where was the editor or historical consultant on this episode?! Mary ChesTnut used multiple times?!?!?! Her last name was Chesnut (no “middle” t). C’mon people.
I met Schofields great great grandson of the same namesake. Real standup guy could even see a resemblance.
There is a great tour of the Carnton and Carter plantations you can take. A fiend of mine has ancestors that fought on both sides of this conflict.
Cleburne & Forrest were brilliant
Love how these honey toungued southern historians and this stupid show dwell on the horror and “valor” of the southern army and the soldiers then exclaimed that they should never seen such a horror well what was horrible southern traitors was being crammed into a slave ship hauled over the ocean torn from.your loved ones your name your country whipped and beaten and worked to death over and over again a million times over again that is as horrible as the gore of the battle of Franklin — at best southern soldiers were victims and if any blood on that field was valorous it was that blood shed for the union the constitution and freedom THW the southern glory bs it was a crime — it is false and easily disappears once you liberate your mind and see the south for what it was.
Dear Lord I miss the HISTORY channel which broadcasted well done and researched History. Now it’s a pathetic “Reality Show”
Both my great great grandfather and great great great uncle of the 32nd Tennessee Infantry CSA Browns division Stewarts Corps fought at Franklin and Nashville
Never even heard of this battle. So much info about so many others, especially Gettysburg. But knowing about this, no wonder the south lost
Everlasting glory? More like the Confederates burned in disgrace and shame, dying for nothing but trying to cage and own humans in slavery like animals. Now they themselves are all free by their own hand.
Back b4 the democrats owned the history Channel and tried to rewrite history to what they thought it should be.
“Those who don’t learn history are doomed to repeat it.”

Hood should have learned the old rule about having messengers return with affirmation of delivery.
Gen.Hoods situational awareness my have been left nullified by his wounds & the meds to address them.🤔
It wasn’t a lost cause. It was an illegal rebellion against the legitimate government of the United States.
It has the tone of a lost cause apologist paying rather excessive praise and glorification to the confederates. Other then that criticism it was an excellent and accurate video.
History Channel still romanticizes the mercenary and treasonous confederacy.
I’m glad the racist traitors was left bleeding in the dirt. There could have been no better outcome.
Sad that the History Channel is now just reality TV and “ancient aliens” shlock.
Why does grant always look depressed?
Hood should have retired after losing his leg.
What else could Hood have done?
Too bad the History Channel has sucked for 15+ years. Its almost humorous to call it the“history” channel. I miss these shows.
Thank God we have modern-day Confederate sympathizers or we would have no programs such as this.
COMMERCIALS MAKE IT UNBEARABLE.
Wait…there was a general named “States Rights”? That’s hilarious.
This video means a lot to me. My great grandfather fought at Franklin with the 111th Ohio which was just west of the Columbia Pike.
They were the first unit not to break and set up an “L” shaped line to attack soldiers who had broken through and also to fire into the trench. What I wouldn’t give to have spoken with him. Unfortunately, my Dad and Uncle never related any stories that he might have told them.
