My heart goes out to all the victims, and their families who have suffered at the hands of the enemy , where this is coming from.
It breaks my heart that somebody, somewhere did not see the truth, and that this sort of thing would be shut down swiftly as it’s not congruent with moral law in any capacity whatsoever, let alone man’s law .
God bless you all
I was at the academy at ivy ridge. The story I could tell you about that place, would chill you, I was there 11 months.
How I got there, 2 men kidnapped me or felt like it, I was zip tied and brought to a car in middle of the night, they transported me across the country. I got to a.i.r very early in the morning 2 or 3. Ricky Wong was the kid I was first bunked with. I was on the unity family. I was there during the riot, I remember when it went down, I remember kids talking about it that day. Jason Finlayson ran this place and I wish he was in jail the rest of his life!
I can’t believe they are finally talking about this. I went to spring creek lodge academy in Thompson falls Montana for 3 years. The mom and dad corporation is called w.w.a.s.p (world wide associations of speciality schools) its insane I knew a few people from I’ve ridge and I was about to go to tranquility bay in Jamaica. This shit made me feel some type of way.
I was at The Cascade School from 1991–1993 for my junior and senior year of high school. The long lasting effects of the damage that is done to so many children in these programs is staggering. Many who went through them are dead from suicide. Many of us still living will always be trying to untangle the web of pain and trauma. For anyone with a “troubled child” who reads this: the best gift you can give a child who is struggling is to listen to them, get to know and understand them. Let them know they have a guide and an ally in life. Teach them how to live productively. Teach them love and empathy by showing them love and empathy. Don’t put your child’s fate in the hands of strangers who take your money and promise miracles. The consequences may be far worse than you could’ve ever imagine. Bless you all.
I highly recommend the webcomic Joe vs Elan School where he details his experience and life after being taken to a program like this. Its fascinating and infuriating how often these things happen
I was sent to two different programs in Montana both were shut down 2016–2018. One, the owners were both caught having sexual relations with students. All while me and a few other girls were living in his house in Utah. The other they level dropped me and made my life hell, told my family I was a manipulative abuser, they knew that something was wrong so they pulled me. I am traumatized, I’m not the same person I was years ago. I can’t live a normal life. My family regrets it, especially wasting 80k of my college fund.
I went to Casa By The Sea when I was 16,
They took me to Mexico from my high school.
I was a pretty rebellious kid and I ran away all the time, plenty of illegal substances in my system for years, etc.
In my adult life, I went to prison twice,
I’ve been to Los Angeles county jail numerous times, as well as other county jails. Casa By The Sea was the worst place that ever been locked up. I’m a pretty strong individual and have overcome some very complex problems in my life but yet that experiences the only one that sticks with me and makes me feel the way I feel on a daily basis. I hope that everyone involved in that program realizes what they did. I don’t think they care
They got rich
I did not expect this to ever become a thing. Maybe people will actually believe me. 3 years at Midwest Academy.
No more cults! Only kind people!
How about the parents that sent them back? 🤯
As soon as I saw them show the towel process from Orientation/Discovery I knew this was gonna be the real deal. Here we go.
The fact that I’ve begun learning about programs like this is disturbing. I never knew they existed. What’s crazy is that I started looking at these comments and see that many of them are written by survivors of these horrible programs. I’m so sorry that all of you have endured this abuse. I’m glad that the world will finally know your stories and put an end to these programs.
paris hilton got sent to such thing
Seeing David G at that white board sent a wave of fear through me that I haven’t experienced in a very long time. I was in Cross Creek from 1997–1999, I turned 18 in 1998 and did not know that I could leave, they told my family not to allow me to come back home if I left.
I love all of the exposure that this is going to get, but I do feel for the brainwashed parents that did not realize this is what we were subjected to, like my mom.
To this day there is still some “programming” that I have not been unable to undo. This needs to stop!!
Ann Morley?
I was sent to Cross Creek. 😢😢😢😢
I was there at cross creek at the age 15–16. I told my parents that i didn’t need to be there. I was not drinking or doing or having sex. I had to say I did to even try to graduate the program. My parents sent me there still. I tried to tell my mom about the program a couple of times after she finally came to get me and ahe didn’t want to hear it. She said that it was costing too much and was not working my program. Id you where on staff buddy your showers where supervised. I found out later that my mom had me get a “pap smear” but it was to check to if i had sex 😢 she later told that i was there for therapy for my molestation because i wouldn’t talk to my parents. I was adopted and didnt want to talk about it but they didn’t like that answer. . That program messed me up. Taught me about drugs and i knew nothing about them. Saw aborted babies. Saw people get tacked and sat on. That is the worst place ever. I am now a 31 year old been with my husband for 11 years and have 4 beautiful children. And that didnt come from the program. I am going to go to school to be a surgical tech. I am very happy and proud with where my life has gone. But still has its challenges and the program didn’t help with anything.
I was sent to CSA and the second student at Pillars de Esperanza, formerly Dundee Ranch, in Costa Rica. I still have nightmares all the time about being back there, unable to escape. The people who run these places should have to pay for what they did to thousands and thousands of children.
Wisdom family 2008. I was there near the end of the ridge
wasn’t Paris Hilton sent to one of those “schools” (i dont know how to call them).
And she talked about it on her documentary, that they took her from her house in the middle of the night and they were mentally abusive in that place (and i don’t remember if physically abusive as well).
It’s awful. I don’t know how parents can send their kids there, even if they didn’t know how bad it was, there’s no excuse to send your kid away because they “have behavioral issues”.
Awful.
Whoever made this.… THANK YOU. The trailer has me weak in the knees, crying. I was a program kid and this trailer is so real. FINALLY
I was at Carolina Springs Academy and Dundee Ranch Academy for 2 years, 16–18.
Narvin Lichfield, the guy running it, got $3,000+ per kid every month. The government would shut one of his programs down from the abuse and sexual allegations, and he’d just re-open it under a different name. Happened repeatedly
Not sure if using Dr Phil footage was the way to introduce this trailer
Hindi dubbed please.….❤😢
I’ve read so many testimonies of people who were put into these internment camps as children and it is not talked about at all really. Happy to see netflix is bringing this documentary out but we all know they will only scratch the surface. Hopefully it will incline people to do their own research!!!
y’all are looking at drag queens and this is still going on…. 😒
america why?
My sister had to go to one of these programs, glad they are getting exposed
And Phil Mcgraw has sent numerous children to these places.
So this is where Vito Jr went.
I was at Midwest Academy for 8 months. I’m so excited that our story is being told!
The best thing Netflix has done is expose cults, in their Documentaries.
This is so evil. I would never do this to my child. 😢
Did Paris Hilton also speak out against this? Didn’t she also went through simalar or am I imaging i heard that…
So many comments from survivors of these “torturer camps” oh this is heartbreaking and bad. Surely the govt and state owe them something as they allowed these heinous crimes to happen. Like what they did to the Boys Scouts, so sorry to everyone who was robbed a childhood by these sociopaths and insane parents.
Shoutout to Chris Showers and Shawn Jones. Let’s see you gaslight your way out of this one!
Elan anyone?
Work down the street from the place.
I’m a survivor of Provo Canyon School. It’s like being in an Extermination Camp in The Holocaust.
I am about to write about my story of being sent twice to Tranquility Bay, kidknapped by a sister.
I went to one called Thayer Learning Center in Kidder, Mo. I don’t think it was affiliated with this one, but it was just like this. They finally shut it down when a kid died. It was horrific. I want to watch this series, but I am hesitant to relive that shit in video form.
My mom was here
I went to Midwest Academy from 2006–2008. It’s been almost 18 years since I was taken from my parents at 13, and I still have issues socializing with society and suffer from major depression and anxiety. I will never shut up about this place
Somehow every single person commenting is a survivor.
Midwest Academy 05–06, glad that place finally got shut down and the man in charge there put behind bars
