This bricklaying robot could build 100 to 300 homes a year

The Hadrian X bricklaying robot made by Fastbrick Robotics has broken its own speed record, laying 200 bricks in just one hour. We compare the Hadrian X with the first commercially available bricklaying robot, the SAM100, made by Construction Robotics.
Correction: While the Hadrian X is capable of laying bricks 12 times larger than standard house bricks, the 200 bricks per hour record was achieved with bricks 5 times larger than standard house bricks.

Looks pretty slow.
These robots are so stupid there is no way they’d be widely used in construction😂 No ones jobs are at risk. Waste of money and materials
That is ridicules the foundations are not going to be strong without mortar.
Human bricklayer puts the mortar on the bricks, Hardian X seems to skip that portion and uses aircrete block (inferior product).
I wonder if it can tidy up after messy joiners
problem you still need staff to run it. i could lay the same bricks per hour for 8 hours you still need to clean mantanace the its not bricklaying and the value of property is less. ive built the same yes one bricklayer laying bricks real bricks with real cement. i dont cost millions.
Hanzhen harmonic drive gear , robot arm gear , over 30 years experience
Clearly blocks not bricks.
Thirty to forty years time, tradesmen will be homeless or imprisoned.
I worked on a brick crew…as a laborer. On a straight run, Dan could lay brick as fast as I picked them up and handed them to him face out. He would lay 5 cubes(2500) a day. This machine would lay 1,000, and I’m being generous.
Dan took the oversquish fron the mortar bed with his trowel and used that mortar for the front of his next brick, and already had the bed of mortar on the run of bricks he was laying. I could barely keep up just handing them to him.

If I was a mason i’d be scared
The Hadrian is a brick laying robot. Nothing more. It doesn’t build houses no matter what the commercials claim. It just lays the bricks. That makes it a scam. Because their claims are just false. It is not building houses and it is not faster than humans. HOWEVER. I do believe in the future of this system. In the future house building will always be robot assisted and even completely automated. There is no reason why the Hadrian system cannot evolve into a faster brick laying, mortar applying autonomous system. Just feed it materials and let it construct a building following the plan. It’s just not at that stage yet. For now it is good at delivering the bricks on the spot. So it’s still a helpful machine. Just not what they claim it to be.
The best thing for humanity would be if someone executed the people developing such technology.
Those are block not brick
200 bricks in an hour is not impressive. A truly optimized robot bricklayer should be laying 60 bricks every minute.
3:11 Don’t let the PR fool you, the goal is actually profit.
no mortar?
Jes now back problems any more no hernia hits future 🔮
With Hadrian X I see adhesive on the horizontal joints, what about the vertical joints, it looks to leave space for mortar but what do they do? I can’t find the answer.
No mortar on the FBR
200 brick per hour, is that all, there’s a bloke on YouTube who reckons he can lay 500 an hour.😂 Yeah, alright mate.
🥳
brick is plural for brick. As a mason I just felt I should address that
Another industry that will be gone in 5 to 10 years
nerds will rule the future. this is their revenge from being bullied by jocks that ended up in careers carpentry related
Neat but that wall does not meet CA code
A humanoid robot would do better than any of these robots
Will never happen..
Its stacking blocks that’s all
Am i missing something wheres the mortar
Oh they really want a robot to bend them over in bed and be done with it.
I was helper for almost 2 years. We had two masons that would regularly lay 1,500 brick a day on straight walls. One white guy one Mexican guy. They were both masters. The white guy was better only because he’d been doing it since he was 8 with his father. The arches and coins he could lay were simply awesome and he could really put them down in a straight wall. With 4 masons on a wall he would lay 40% of it. Same with Javier he just didn’t have the technical side down as well. They were making 30 an hour in 91.
THANK U AI BOBOTS BETTER ❤🎉❤
These machines will come into their own when they can do complex structures without all the setting out time.
