Testing the accuracy of coronavirus antibody tests

Also known as serological tests, antibody tests can help identify people who have developed an immune response to coronavirus by detecting antibodies in their blood. More than 100 tests have been brought to market since the FDA eased its restrictions to help meet the global demand, but recent data suggests that some of these tests are not as accurate as they should be.

America so far behind the rest of the world
Can we just stop doing the first thing, what are you first graders!
Wait, they eased restrictions and now there are poor quality products in the market? Who’d have thought…
You are a tech channel, not a medical channel. Stop doing non tech COVID stuff.
But is it testing for the specific corona virus ‑19 or does it just test for corona virus generally ?
The tests aren’t 100% accurate. Let’s stay locked in our houses until no one catches the virus again.
These guys forgot to say that PCR test (with a sample from nose or throat) give 30% false positive!
So serological antibody tests are waaaay more accurate than PCR.
Had corona. My antibody test came back negative. What does this mean?
Very good
What a bunch of crap. A blood test that isolates the virus is the ONLY way to test for it.
We really need to atleast help ourselves. I actually heard of antibody self test kits.
I took an antibody test and it came back “equivocal” which means.…absolutely nothing. Waste of time. It was done by a lab in AZ.
Can a job force you to do a antibody test?
Coronavirus tests have never been 100percent correct. Still having problems with false positives and false negatives today
Antibody tests are totally subjective. Absent patient reported symptoms the test is meaningless.
It would be good to put a link in the description. It doesn’t pull up if you type it in.
Is the testing kit use in covid cases is same with the one use in hiv testing?
They test for Exosomes not Covid!! Until they get away from Bill Gates funded anything, we will make breakthroughs. Until then, were screwed!!!
Corruption a lot of Corruption.
Lauda
How can you base statistics on covid 19 and not have a reliable testing system?
Coronavirus just a over hyped virus to panic the gullible. H1N1 virus as a pandemic and no panic than yet 500,000 died and 100 million sick
In other words the test are no more reliable than the hiv antibody test.
In other words you don’t know shish.
I think that thereare those with a vested interest in having a Vaccine programme!
You can’t trust the antibody test, my wife and I was very sick for over 14 days in March, but afterwards we both where tested negative in the antibody test..
why are people with hla b27 gene not being tested for long term antibodies. This gene is immunodominant to all previous retro viruses.
You didn’t even say which brand of tests are most accurate! Useless video
Are you a real doctor? You really don’t seem to know what you are talking about.
ALL THE TESTS DO IS SHOW IF YOU HAD THE FLU IN THE PAST.
