R.I.P Lt Joseph Blassie Thank you for your service. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🕊🕊🕊🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Why do people guard the Dead, ????
Ok I got my answer…it’s more symbolic than a functional grave site because there are more dead unknown soldiers than can be buried there.
WOW! I am so glad the Blassie family got closure
So what do we think, should we exhume the other 3 soldiers and test their DNA?
I went there when i was real young it was pretty to watch the those guards and being lucky to watch the changing
I would love to go there and pay my respects to the falling soldiers even though I’m not American nor live in the United States.. R.I.P 👥😥
Can’t we just DNA test everybody and put it up to public DNA websites? It should be pretty easy to identify through their predecessors.
As a brit I’m confused on why you would identify the unknown solider. It all started with britain and the unknown warrior, we were the first to do it (not taking away from the others, just stating fact). The point of it was to take 1 unknown solider to represent all the unknown fallen and have him be a symbol of any family’s dead relatives who were never found or given a marked confirmed grave. We buried him among Kings and he will remain unknown, as to identify him is to remove closure from family’s who imagine their son, father, grandfather, uncles, cousin, lover or husband lay in that tomb. He belonged to 1 family but now represents all.
My great grandfather served in the United States Army during ww2 and landed on Utah beach at 6:52 am as an infantryman.. he was a sgt. At the time.. we got to visit Arlington and The tomb of the Unknown soldier with him in 2008 the year before he passed and I’d never seen him so emotionally charged in my life.. I truely do thank all men and women who take the sacrifice to serve our country in the armed forces!! Y’all are the reason we can live in this country free today!! ❤🪖🇺🇸
NO NO NO!
This completely missing the point.
The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier honors all who have fallen and not been identified.
It was never about a single soldier.
I appreciate that the video recognizes this, but the title is dishonest, dishonorable and insulting.
Cómo les gusta llamar héroes a los invasores. Héroes serían si murieran defendiendo a su país, no invadiendo otros y matando a los nativos con superiores armas y aviones.
Huh isn’t this the ship that China is dredging up to melt back down so they can make more cheap junkie boat’s to try and pretend they anything but a sad little joke.
The unknown solder could be anyone, and thus he is everyone. He stands for everyone who died without a name.
The Unknown Solder serves as proxy for all those who lost every part of their loved one.
the schools and what they teach are to blame. Nobody asks why only schools?
For a second I thought Lawrence fishburne was the unknown soldier
There isn’t going to be any more “unknown soldiers.” Now military personnel are tagged and the DNA is recorded.
I have been to the tomb, and I didn’t know the history. Thank you. May all RIP
may he be known now, but still a warrior.
To ALL those who answered the call to arms during times of conflict and paid the ultimate price and were NOT or were unable to be identified.…..They are KNOWN by the ALMIGHTY SOVEREIGN GOD.….For HE KNEW our names before HE formed us in our Mother’s womb.….To the fallen.…RIP.
Finally something good.
With DNA tests now, I understand it would be a lengthy process, but every soilder who served is documented some way.
Get a DNA sample from relatives of all the MIA/ unknown KIAs. They are all documented somewhere. As remains are found, test them and compare against the family DNA database.
There will be no more unknown remains anymore.
I We thank you All ❤️🔥 🙏🏿
Reveal the soldier! Stop the patrolling!
Excellent piece! Very well done! We who served and survived Thank You for the respect this piece presents.
You’ve done a fine job! If you’re wooed by this topic, a book with cognate content is recommended. “The Silent Bridge: Echoes of the Unspoken Past” by Emma Wick
How can someone have closure when someones remains are identified? The death will never go away. I lost my daughter. There will never be closure. Only a degrees of acceptance.
The most amazing part is the marks worn on the floor from the same paths travelled thousands of times everytime the walk is made for the changing
Thank you Lawrence Fishburn for your commentating this show😂. I’m a veteran & I thank you for this. I’m a huge fan of you. You have an amazing talent! God bless you 🇨🇻
