It’s Day 2 of CES 2015. We’re confused, we’re delirious, and we have a lot of feelings about Say Anything. Join Nilay Patel, Dieter Bohn, Chris Plante, and Sam Sheffer on this live Vergecast odyssey from the show floor.

This was not very good. Dieter looked like he was embarrassed, which is a good sign for Dieter. Dieter is fine… Nilay you can be better… the other two not so much. Add Chris Ziegler, and David Pierce or Vlad… anyone who passes as an intelligent adult. You’re all just very embarrassing these days.
I know that this was extremely unprofessional and there was very little new news actually covered, but am I the only one who enjoyed watching it? I personally found it hilarious. Especially the end.
What is this blabbering? These guys sound like they all have ADHD. Focus on the news at hand. So unprofessional.
This is the worst vergecast eveeeer
Where has this wisdom been all my life?: “Drones are kinda like RC quadcopters” ‑Nilay Patel 2015
Can Mr. Patel not ruin a show for once. The jokes and interrupting have gotten old. At least pretend to be a journalist during the time you’re on camera.
life is about fun live it, good talk fellas.
I preferred when sam sat in his little hype check box out of the way
Dieter looks so unamused by everyone else’s behaviour.
I actually thought Sam Sheffer was the best one on this cast. Dieter just looks bored
I think the fact that they have “a live studio audience” makes it kind of awkward. Besides it being a podcast for people who subscribe, they are spewing their drone banter to anyone near a speaker at the convention. Also nothing seems good enough for Nikay (except apple devices). This episode was #hashtag, garbage, kinda wack son. I’ll check back tomorrow.
More Sam Sheffer!
The Vergecast is about drunk geeks, talking about stuff, along the way we can learn about new things that we are going to waste our money on.
the vergecast a bit out of focus today compared with the last two days. But it still sounds like the vergecast.
Props to Sam for giving some coherence to this whole IoT discussion!
Man, I don’t care what anyone thinks. I love this podcast. Its the people that’s make it great.
Sam should carry the show if Nilay is HUNGOVER!!!
Keep it up Sam!
Nilay, let someone else talk, you don’t explain things well, I would like to have heard what the others had to say instead of listening to your opinions about everything!
Any chance the Vergecast could return to Dieter Bohn being the host? He would stay on topic not Nilay rage rant, Dieter’s facial expressions indicated on this is one episode he rather not be on this episode. He tries to bring it back to tech news with little luck. As he mentions in the portion at 3:25 “people are here for tech news”. Rather it went back to Dieter, Chris Z, Vlad guest host.
Extremely disappointed in the Verge these days. Time to find a new podcast.
But what if they made the movies for VR in first person? Or if not third?
Wow, this is the worst talk you could put on the internet.
If you want to talk about…SOMETHING..anything at all. At least let someone complete their sentences.
I bet if nilay wouldnt be “leading” the talk there would actually be something interesting to see and listen to in this video, seeing the others guys want to start saying something substantial before getting interrupted by Nilay.
This is like looking at four nerds sitting around their table at home trying to find out who the biggest nerd is.
Come on.
I listened to this episode on SoundCloud as I didn’t realise there was a video for it, and now that I’m watching it I’m realising why certain voices were more dominant… It’s not that Sam had less to say, it was that the others didn’t let him speak: as soon as he looked like he was about to get a point in, someone else would jump in. I then went to the comments and saw others had made the same point. It’s a bit of a shame, really… Sam made some excellent points throughout — give him some more airtime (and a seat at the table back at the Verge studio!)
Plant is awesome !
This Episode is #HashtagEggs
Yeah…good job for sam keeping his cool. Me on the other hand would have insulted and beat that fat guy down to the ground in a blooded mess, good thing i wasn’t there.
Watching this was a complete waste of time. I learned nothing and am now homicidal towards these jerks. They leave the impression that they don’t care about tech and are almost mocking it. I fear will become physically violent if I ever run into any of you, even the small guy with down syndrome and dwarfism. The video from the first day was good and it caused me to subscribe to the verge… This one has caused me to reverse that. Please contract Ebola.
Yes! Nilay is doing it again!
Rock ‘n Roll!
Verge spends a bunch of money on the channel graphics and video gear but the actual content is so fucking pathetic sometimes it makes me sad.
I like the Vergecast, and I don’t have much of a problem with the rambling on, jokes, and lack of actual tech content, because I like the hosts. But please Nilay, stop making fun of Sam, it’s just sad. Sam actually wants to make points and talk about something relevant, but you butt in with your annoying jokes and ridicule Sam, saying that he can’t say anything “businessy” and should just say “yolo” or some other teen slang. It’s just dumb.
A Drone — a male bee in a colony of social bees, which does no work but can fertilize a queen.
This was just too damn boring..
Wow you guys that was a bit much!!! Respect goes to that young man sam? As he kept his cool. Iv watched the show for years so I know how they are but.….. that was just bull! Was not even funny.
Not funny, huge mistake when you let nerds tell jokes, where is the technology?
