Dan, I think it would be more useful if the “This is My Next” series would cover products that lack a significant amount of coverage already or have a larger number of products on the market to choose from. Telling people which smart watch or tablet is best isn’t particularly useful for an audience who follows your website and is aware of the relatively few options out there. Episodes such as the one on earbuds were more useful as not everyone has bothered to research and test the myriad of options out there.
Buen video!!
Pueden pasar a dar un vistazo a mi canal. Saludos.
How did The Verge not pick the Apple Watch as the best smart watch? Ohh. It’s not out yet, you say. Why would that have stopped The Verge from selecting it as the best.
I’m definitely going to hold out until the Apple watch comes out. Extremely customizable,a comprehensive health and fitness device, great voice interaction features, beautiful ui, and best of all you’ll get the Apple service the thing that blows everyone else away!
Right now is a terrible time to buy a smart watch. When the Apple Watch comes out in 2015 it’s going to create so much competition that next year’s smart watches are probably gonna be leaps and bounds better than this years. Hold off.
I think focusing on time and notifications in a review is the right thing to do considering the current state of smartwatches. But these features aren’t enough to get me to buy a smartwatch. I want to be able to pay for things with it at stores, maybe unlock my house, etc.
The steel is the winner because it is compatible with iShit.
Was this supposed to be a comparison or a sales pitch for pebble?
CASIO!
Why didn’t you consider the SonySmartWatch3? Was it not available at the time?
I didn’t realize we are all tech journalists that have tried all these out and own/use all platforms regularly…oh we aren’t?? Ok sorry it’s just from the comments it seems like that, you guys don’t agree with the video, than go write a review instead of writing complete nonsense like “iSheep” and “typical verge”. If those are your thoughts then why not just move on to another tech site and stop talking trash just for the sake of wanting to put your word in. I love that this is what we’ve become on the internet aka hate machine lol, do I always agree with the people at The Verge, no but I also don’t think it’s important to start a platform hate feast over it either. Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one, ok continue the hate people.
Bet this guy cringles every time he compliments Android
oh wow, I thought he was going to say the apple watch, he probably only chose the pebble because it was compatible with iOS.
Thanks for letting me know that the display on the Moto 360 is visible indoors. That has been a concern of mine.
he said the pebble had an lcd display!!! its a E‑ink one!!!!
lets be real here, apple watch has won this and isnt even out yet, a servey said that many android users will be switching to the apple and buying an iphone to with it (such as myself)
also its as thick as say a rolex (not very thick) looks good, and the customisation is insane (those bands tho)
whether u hate apple or love it, the apple watch is going to kill all of these android wear watches
Nicely done video. Subscribed
I’m buying the pebble
I had the classic pebble before and I do have to say it was great until it disappeared from my wrist one day. Some one could have stolen it without me noticing or the band snapped or something. Still looking to see what i should get to replace it or get another
i was considering the samsung galaxy gear 1 because i thought its nice looking and is a pretty reasonable price at £106
Gear s is the best! !@
If you’re an iOS user like myself the new Pebble Time would be better. The ludicrously expensive Apple Watch offers little functionality for its price point at $549 for the regular model and only has an 18 hour battery life. Maybe at some point in the future Apple Watch will provide a bit more in the way of functionality but you can get the Steel version and save $250
Wow! The Peble is most certainly not the best! Reviewer is probably an iPhone user and doesn’t have a choice. On Android, any Android wear watch is easily better. Any!
For me it has to do:
— Payments easly
— Notification descritly
— Looking good (smal and not geeky)
— Heart monitoring
Could this be a smartwatch killer? Vote now! http://www.virginmediabusiness.co.uk/pitch-to-rich/new-things/digitocks
would love an update… This fence I am sitting on is hurting my rump!
The Steels always on LCD display? Whaaaaat?! Its and e‑Paper display :/
Come on, The Verge.
None of these smart watches are any good. You dont need them. You have to have your phone on you for it to even work. Until you dont need a phone on you to text or call people, take great quality pics I wont bother buying one.
Pebble steel is the best smartwatch 👍
LG WATCH URBANE..
I have a pebble steel and I like it because I can feel the vibration alert so well on it. I also like the display that is easy to read in any light conditions. It is a watch worth consideration.
In the near future, can you do an update to this video. Apple Watch, Gear S2, Moto 360 V2, Pebble Round (when it comes out)
the pebble is 109$ i thoght it was affordable
This is NOT my next. The display is electronic ink (correct that before making a review). My gshock can last 10 months without a recharge.
😄😄😄
