isnt that usb4 would support 80gbits?
I long for the foregone days of the S100 Bus! Now there was a standard that never really caught on! I also miss CP/M!
you forgot to mention USB4 40g is based on thunderbolt 3
Go Thunderbolt!
as far as computer data ports go, i like USB‑A ports because I have yet to have a USB‑A connector hardware fail on me. Over time, micro-USB and even USB‑C charging ports on the phones i’ve owned have always lost their detent and eventually failed altogether, after about a couple of years of use. USB‑A connectors have never failed me.
I think the whole USB C thing that eliminated inserting the wrong way was a game changer for me. I’m remembering all the way back to parallel ports and trying to reach behind the dot matrix printer to connect it.
USB4’s first anniversary was yesterday. It’s been a full year since it launched, and we still don’t have a single USB4 device…
USB‑C is the greatest connector upgrade since SATA replaced IDE.
the reason this is still so messy and no consistency in 2020 coz American still refuse to adopt metric system. so of course we can’t expect universal standard across
1:11 rename to USB5G USB10G USB20G mach better.
that Gamecube controller port still hits different
My favourite connectors are TASCAM AES/EBU DB25 and XLR
This video is a reupload isn’t it?
I have bought the new M1 MacBook Air and I only need one USB‑C (USB4) Port for charging. The rest is wireless at my home. The second USB Port and the headphone jack is useless for me. Hope, the dust won’t come to fast inside the ports and makes them dirty.
You didn’t mention thunderbolt
84.56% of statistics are made up.
When is it coming out
I bet windows will still crash when I’m transferring data between my android phone
Clear as mud, this vid misses out on the basics.
still no usb 4 in 2021 ;(
March 2021, WHERE’S MY USB4?!
When will we see it on Laptops & will it be on Mobiles to, any Phones has it yet ❓
Thanks
Still waiting !!
Thanks. So now that Q2 of 2020 is long gone, teh next computer should have 6G and USB4 for those 4K & 8K monitors.
BTW I read USB4 will support 16K at 60HZ for those wonder what connectors will still be around.
Just release everything with USB‑C connectors with Thunderbolt 4 technology. Flashdrives can have the USB‑C connector on one end and the rectangular connector on the other end.
Its now Sept 2021 and hardly anybody has even heard of the spec much less actually seen it being sold. Its a Unicorn.
Turns out, “The second half of 2020” wasn’t a suitable anything
The question is not What… The question is When.
Does anybody know where I’ve seen this host before that wasn’t on CNet? I’m thinking maybe I saw him on TechTV or maybe one of Leo Laporte’s shows, or something on Revision3?
here I am in 2021 still waiting for my USB4 hubs 🙄
Now explain the differences between USB4 and Thunderbolt 4.
USB: No longer universal, no longer serial, and actually not a bus.
Mil spec Cannon Plugs are my favorite, but honestly the apple lightning cable is a genius bit of kit, no sharp edges, machined aluminum surfaces on the port and cable with pins on the outside, not the inside. Wiggling and gradual use just has no effect on the ports, which is important for a phone
Concerning connectors in general: XLR, but if we’re talking computers only: RJ-45. Basicly they are connector that you can plugin as normal and are secured of not able to yank out. The only hassle is that you need to push a pin or such in the connector to loosen it. Not a big deal at all! In fact you’re happy to do that since you know because of that you the cable is always connected with a connector like that, so you smile: oh yes, the good old XLR / RJ-45 connector.
never heard of USB4 for all these years…
1:27 false, it’s about lanes Gen1/2x1 lane and x2 lane
I can say the USB‑C design is best for older generations and people who are not “Tech Savvy”. Great video!!! Love it 🥰. Personal favorite is the moment when I switched to USB 2.0 😍💯. Loved the technology advances 🤓🤓
OLD OLD OLD!!!!!!! here it is 2022, and those numbers he gave here are now wrong, the numbers i saw today are, old was 40GBS, and the new numbers are 80GPS!!! so what is going on? where is this crazy crap going to end, with politics and tech going to bed together, i WOULD SAY.….NEVER!!!!!
You are supposed to educate people. You can always get usb A right if the logo/hole is up or towards you.
Next up USB Butterscotch ! They will take up the old the candy / food naming scheme from Android…
