***** how often do you upgrade to a new phone ?
Agree except it is not too big.. 5 is normal for me
i got a s3 and for me it’s too small. my next device will be in the note 3, oneplus one range.
Totally agree, mr.Broda! 🙂 I have mine (since November last year) and I love it! I’ve never been so happy getting a new smartphone except my first smartphone ever — Galaxy S 😉
Helo Jayce,What’s your thought on Android Silver Program? Will it be a Nexus killer?
Great review. I totally agree with the idea that the big phone craze will end. I one a nexus 5 and I do love it.. But my girlfriends moto g along with its vivid colors feels really nice in the hand.
I disagree
I have a note 3 and I don’t find that too big
And yes everyone has a tablet but I think that my note 3 is a better media device then my iPad 4
In fact it’s a better everything device then my iPad
I’d have given a 100 Likes if I could!!!
Vanilla Android and Nexus Rock!
Why did you link to the Amazon purchase page for the Nexus 5? Purchasing it straight from the Google Play Store is $50 cheaper…
OnePlus One. Enough said..
Hi, what case you have for the nexus?
I always use my index finger to scroll down the notification bar when using only 1 hand. You should try this out man!
Disagree about the size. 5 inch or 5 inch plus is a good compromise for people that don’t necessarily want a tablet or can’t afford one.
Just Nexus being Nexus…
I really like having the 5.1 inch display on the gs5. With Swype, it’s easy to text with one index finger anyways, so there’s no problem there. And large screens are so much better for media consumption in general. Other than that, I think your points stand strong
you are funny bro hahah
You should try the Moto X then.
Agree with you and thanks for the video! Good luck.
1. I don’t know what you’re doing with yours but I get two days use out of my battery. Best battery life ever.
2. 5 inches beat 4.5 inches every time. The size and ergonomics are perfect for me.
which colour should I buy black or white
????
can someone help me with my calander display problem, my nexus 5 calander will not show holidays inthe united states or contacts birthdays and events. i have tryed touse the settings but didn’t help at all.
I really find tablets kind of useless to me. Thats my opinion. Having the LG G2 with a 5.2in screen — It’s good for consuming media, battery is great like a tablets too. Id rather occasionally have to move the phone in my hand than carry two devices. Also , they have voice to text built into stock androids keyboard.
i have a nexus 7 tablet and want to buy a nexus 5 since is 4.9 or 5 inch display it is very confortable and i have small hands, 4.7 inch es like somwhat small for me, and 5.2 or so is just to big
I have a nexus, an old Laptop and a pc. I’ll never buy a tablet because i don’t see why i could want it. I would maybe buy a windows 8 tablet (not the RT version!) for produktiviti with a nice keyboard and a mouse. We need less devices which do more, not more which do less!
My hand is big so I don’t have a problem with the size
Why did my nexus the start to charge so slow!? How can I fix this?
I had a 5.5 inch Note 2. Loved it, although it was a bit unwieldy. And I have huge hands. Then I got the Nexus 7 tablet and frankly, didn’t need such a large phone. So I think Jayce is on to something with the 4.5–4.7 inch sweet spot. I think my taste is more like 4.7–5.0 inches, but yeah, I’m over the large phones. Problem is that the OnePlus is 5.5 and I REALLY want to support that phone so I may have to go back. Wish that device was 5 inches. They messed that up, according to their own poll.
Nooooo!!! 5.2 inches is fine on my g2, don’t make smaller phones, and I’m pretty sure people with a note 3 will agree.
Does anyone think that Verizon will support the next nexus phone, or know why they currently don’t support nexus phones?
I think you are wrong about Nexus 5’s and iPhone’s battery life and especially iPad mini’s. I have all three devices and iPhone 5s lives longer than Nexus 5 to me and iPad shouldn’t even be in this conversation, I have the last year model and it can live a few days with playing games, movies, browsing etc.
I dont have a tablet, but I think 5inch nexus 5 is great esp i dont wanna carry two devices when i am out.
4.5ish in screen is too small when u dont have a tablet.
I totally agree with the size. I hate 5 inch phones. way to big to use one handed
I love the phone
The tweaks are available within the settings of all recent Android phones in a section called “Developer options.”
This section might be hidden on some phones, but it’s very easy to access. On many phones, you just have to open a certain page in the settings and tap a button seven times. Use Google to figure out how to enable Developer options on your phone if it’s currently hidden (for example, search “enable developer options HTC One”).
Once you have access to Developer options, simply scroll until you find the following three settings, which may be located on the main screen or within an “Advanced” subsection:
Window animation scale
Transition animation scale
Animator animation scale
Tapping each of the three aforementioned settings will reveal that it’s set to “1x” by default. If you want to speed up your phone or tablet dramatically, simply change each of those three settings to “.5x” — that’s it.
0:10 was that a legitimate comment or did you make up that name as a reference to Black ops?
Please use a green screen correctly or get a white screen.… Seriously this is extremely poor!
lol eventhough ppl say he’s not funny but he’s better den Darcy ‑_-
Everybody like bigger screens. NO ONE WANTS A 4.7 SCREEN. NO ONE
I agree with him screen size should be between 4.7 — 5.0 inch, not more than that.
Jayce phone size depends on the person and how larger there fingers are a 5″ inches for a screen is perfect for my hands because i have long fingers with a large base (palm) to hold my phone. i think it can vary per person but I sell phones for a living and I notice that people purchase the larger phones because they want to watch movies or have a larger gps when they are on the road.i don’t think people actually care that it takes them a fraction of a second to adjust there hand
(most people who have a tablet if usually for there child or for reading)
the reason why is i have customers saying that they don’t even use there tablet because there phone is always on them or just because the phone just operates better (because a smart phone is usually MSRP 700 dollars and a average tablet price is MSRP 100–350 dollars ipad MSRP 250–499) (base on what i sale ipads can cost more)
the specs in a 700 dollar phone by samsung (the GS5) are going to be superior to a 170 tablet (most consumers purchase) that only has a dual core cpu, 1 gb of ram and only displays in 600p…do i need to break it down even more?!
Why buy a tablet and a phone? Tablets are actually useless for anything other than media consumption and with a 5″ screen I’d argue that’s plenty big enough for media. I think 4.7″-5.2″ is going to be the sweet spot in the future; bezels will shrink to the point that these devices will be very easy to use in one hand even with the larger screens. I really hope tablets become obsolete…
boy you were wrong with phone size now
