Is it going to have the ULV version of the core i7 or the regular notebook version.
It looks like a zenbook so I would guess its the ulv, but it has a vent, and they seem to advertise it as a “nootbook” rather than an “ultrabook”. I also heard them mention HDD drive upgrades and discrete graphics possibilities for the larger versions in another video.
I really hope this device leans more the the notebook side of the tablet/notebook hybrid range. what do you guys think?
lol fingerprint magnet to the max
Not to mention the other Asus Transformer android tablets that this design is based on and have been out for more than a year…
How much? And when is it coming out?
i‘m throving money on screen,nothing happens :((
If it werent for the Metro UI… I’m just glad WIN 8 has a desktop still. If they forced the metro I’d probably never consider win8 😀
Well, it will have a discrete Nvidia GPU in the keyboard dock, and hopefully (it is not confirmed) more RAM in the keyboard dock as well. However, I doubt it can run Battlefield without a GPU at least at the level of the Geforce GT 650M and do not always expect peak performance when there is a lot of explosions and many things happening on the screen. But for 95% of your gaming you should be fine. And you can very much do video editing with that, no problem.
If it is $1200.00, you will get the same specs as a MacBook Pro, but it will be 200% cheaper, so that is the price I hope it is.
Maybe video editing, but games don’t use much of a CPU in comparison. You need a strong GPU for gaming BF3. Skyrim.. not as much, but gaming on a laptop is usually a terrible idea anyway
it’s not a tablet.
Nice NOTEBOOK. It’s not ARM based, and uses full power intel processors (not janky tengra 3 tablet processors), and therefore is a notebook first and foremost and a tablet second.
whoo intel based, it is gonna cost a pretty penny 🙁 are there also RT transformers expected? is there a price indication allready?
i heard intel based models are going to ba around 800‑1000 and arm models around 600 🙁 i want one for 400 just like the android models!
Then you better start saving.
Any news on the graphics card in this?
They didnt think about wiping the screen before showing it off?
I don’t care if it costs $1200 its way more than a tablet. This is what I’ve been waiting for…
Well, it’s still not full power CPUs, it is still an ULV version.
When are they releasing this thing? Hell what’s the price? Asus you make good shit, but lousy at release
the known sizes of transformer book are 13 and 14(or 14.5) i remember, that one should be 14
how would anyone know any of the specs for this yet? ASUS hasnt even released this product yet. To say this product will use an ulv processor, like the transformer pad series, is pure speculation and is counter productive to this product line where people want a full power laptop in a small package.
How do you know that?
omg so many windows 8 tablet… can’t decide which one to get!
No, future of the tablets
Well considering everyone from ASUS at Computex 2012 said it will have an i7… I think it’s safe to assume it will have that.…
Well, it’s unlikely they would stick a full blown i7 in that thin of a chassis, with the normal power draw and thermal envelope. I do not think it’s actually possible to do that, much less with reasonable battery life. The smallest form factor i have seen a full mobile Core i7 in is the Sony Vaio Z, which is still thicker and heavier than this. But it might be, we’ll have to wait and see.
what would be better to get ? This or the lenovo ideapad 13?
Or does anyone else recommend a way better laptop with windows 8 in it?
which is better, this or the asus vivo tab?
this is da best hybrid in terms of: processor i7 … design very thin … and portability looks less heavy than othet hyprid laptop-tablets !!!
Price?
O.O apple is CRYING
As a Microsoft student ambassador we get these babies for freee! 🙂
Asus vivo tab runs Windows 8 RT, not Windows 8 Pro like this tablet. Vivo uses Nvidia Tegra, compared to this using Ivy Bridge i5.
FINGER PRINTS…FINGER PRINTS EVERYWHERE
I think I am better off with the Lenovo Yoga
