Twitter test feature to add multiple media types to a tweet

New Del­hi: Microblog­ging plat­form Twit­ter is test­ing a new fea­ture that will allow users to attach media in mul­ti­ple for­mats to a sin­gle tweet. This fea­ture allows a user to add an image, video, and GIF to a sin­gle tweet. Accord­ing to GSM Are­na, those who have been using Twit­ter for a while know that the com­pa­ny has only sup­port­ed one media type so far. While users can attach four images, there was no option to attach more than a sin­gle video or GIF, or to mix them with the images. 

With this update, the four media form lim­it remains, but users can now have any com­bi­na­tion of images, videos, and GIFs with­in these four slots. Speak­ing to Techcrunch (ALSO READ: God­frey Phillips India Q1 net prof­it up 16.6% to Rs 131.05 crore) 

Twit­ter said, “We’re test­ing a new fea­ture with select accounts for a lim­it­ed time that will allow peo­ple to shuf­fle up to four pieces of media con­tent in a sin­gle tweet, regard­less of for­mat.” (ALSO READ: Will the Cen­ter host the ITR Extend fil­ing date past July 31 dead­line? They added, “We’re see­ing peo­ple on Twit­ter hav­ing more visu­al con­ver­sa­tions, using images, GIFS, and videos to make those con­ver­sa­tions more engag­ing. With this test, we hope to learn how peo­ple com­bine these dif­fer­ent media for­mats to express them­selves more cre­ative­ly on Twit­ter beyond 280 characters.” 

As usu­al with Twit­ter test­ing, the fea­ture will only be avail­able to select accounts in select regions. There’s no word yet on when the fea­ture will be avail­able to every­one, if ever, accord­ing to GSM Arena.
