New Delhi: Microblogging platform Twitter is testing a new feature that will allow users to attach media in multiple formats to a single tweet. This feature allows a user to add an image, video, and GIF to a single tweet. According to GSM Arena, those who have been using Twitter for a while know that the company has only supported one media type so far. While users can attach four images, there was no option to attach more than a single video or GIF, or to mix them with the images.
With this update, the four media form limit remains, but users can now have any combination of images, videos, and GIFs within these four slots. Speaking to Techcrunch (ALSO READ: Godfrey Phillips India Q1 net profit up 16.6% to Rs 131.05 crore)
Twitter said, “We’re testing a new feature with select accounts for a limited time that will allow people to shuffle up to four pieces of media content in a single tweet, regardless of format.” (ALSO READ: Will the Center host the ITR Extend filing date past July 31 deadline? They added, “We’re seeing people on Twitter having more visual conversations, using images, GIFS, and videos to make those conversations more engaging. With this test, we hope to learn how people combine these different media formats to express themselves more creatively on Twitter beyond 280 characters.”
As usual with Twitter testing, the feature will only be available to select accounts in select regions. There’s no word yet on when the feature will be available to everyone, if ever, according to GSM Arena.
