#Phone #succeed #fail
Off topic, is someone able to help me. I have a Samsung Galaxy S8+, and my sim card is currently not functioning, I’ve tried various things to try and get it working, but maybe someone could answer, and give me some pointers, that I may not have thought of. Thanks in advance.
OnePlus dominated what? Come again?
I hope it succeeds.
We know that it lacks a headphone jack. How many people still care about heasphone jack? Personally I do because my bluetooth headphones caused problems, they are more expensive, music is compressed again and simply to have the option. I don’t see any reason to not feature a headphone hack…
The Nothing Phone 1 will most likely succeed, the glyph interface is a pretty neat feature and is unique to the phone but it doesn’t really seem to do its purpose better than a standard notification light. I really like the look and if it is sold at a fair price reflecting its specs, the design is a compelling feature to bring people in.
The major difference between Nothing and Oneplus is that Nothing doesn’t have BBK electronics behind them meaning that their products aren’t influenced by anyone other than the company but it has to work alone. Because of this, I am more optimistic that even if Nothing succeeds like Oneplus, it won’t abandon it’s ideologies (like doing more with less and speaking with the community) like Oneplus and it will be a happy middle ground between the isolated Apple ecosystem and the general large body of android based devices.
Nothing has also already proven themselves as being a legitimate brand and not a scam by releasing the Ear 1 last year which were decent earphones at a decent price.
All they need to stand out is to provide USB C earphones with … wait for it … charging passthrough. Not a USB C DAC dongle for 3.5mm jack (Although that would be nice too) but earphones that terminate in a USB C Jack and Port. Boom. If that’s not already patented, make it and send me royalties.
Edit: have just been made aware of USB C splitter dongles but at that point you just go whole hog and get a powered USB C hub. Earphones with passthrough cable. Bluetooth can eat my curtains.
Asus Rog phones be like: That kid aint gonna make it
I’ll probably buy it because I’m a stupid geek who always needs the new shiny thing, but I’m not sure it will be more than a fad once the dust settles, nor that it will massively appeal to a larger audience.
:What do you use for a phone?
:Nothing.
:Oh, so you don’t have a phone.
:Yeah, I do.
:😶
Also, if someone decides not to buy it, then they’ll be missing out on nothing.
I’m going to invent the something phone, because something is always better than nothing. 🙅
Ok, I’m done😔.….……
It will fail. No doubt.
It’s a fail because of its price…the base varient which is INR 30,999 and with no charged. With 3rd party chargers the phone battery will be at certain risk
Looks cool, only thing that this phone miss to be perfect is iOS
It’s another Chinese company trying to sell their products to gullible Indians while the Chinese soldiers kill Indians
I don’t know if it will succeed or not but since I am in US — this will be useless for me. I am using Verizon so even if I will buy this phone in another country — it will not work on all Verizon’s bands and will not support features like VoLTE or even SMS messaging because Verizon will not enable these features for non-certified phones.
The gimmick phone 1. Overhyped and overpiced.
utterly disappointed
I don’t really see them launching another version honestly. It’s a good looking phone but ultimately other than the gimmick with the LED lights it’s another mid range phone with decent specs.
Nothing Phone is a gimmick and a potential cash grab from Carl Pei.
it sounds like nothing comes to those who wait
