Roku TVs combine the best built-in streaming system with affordable prices, and the S405 series adds 4K to the mix. But how’s the picture?

Why don’t they just sell this as “The Roku TV” instead of TCL 305, not a lot of brand recognition there.
Or get a superior 4k TV and add a $35 streaming stick…
If you don’t have to have 4k and are looking for something smaller, the Insignia Roku TVs seem to work pretty well (my dad has one). They start around $150 for 32″. Amazon also has listings for RCA Roku TVs starting around $160 for pre-order — won’t be shipping for at least a few months though.
Hate Roku, Android TV is better.
Im more than happy with my LG 65uh6030 its got a great picture and my PS4 Pro games look awesome on it.…I highly recommend it.…and the speakers sound good too.
This TV is the S*****t!!!!!
Get a better tv, hook it up with your favorite streaming service and save yourself a trip to an eye doctor.
I had to return TWO of these within days because the TCL screen cracked from the inside over time…
Is the Rgb full or limited
This tv has a great low latency for gaming, too.
Not to mention the TCL S405 series can do 4k @ 60Hz with 4:4:4 Chorma and 8 Bit color with HDR enabled. You can achieve all of that with an input lag of only 15.1ms and with a response time of 14.4ms. That beats out most 4k TVs more than triple its price. Obviously input lag and response time are only applicable for gaming but if thats what you are looking for its a really sweet deal.
which is the “Best budget competition”?
What tv would u recommend after this one? Looking to upgrade to Xbox one x here soon
Lets get this straight media, Android > Roku
What is the best budget TV would you recommend and what is the best budget TV you were speaking about
That’s cause you are using a ps4 get a Xbox x
Really confused…What is considered a budget TV? What price parameters.….? In another review you said about this TV that the Visio D and E series had a better picture. But the D series seems to be just 1080P and the E series is not HDR? But this TCL is both 4k and HDR, and you recommend on another review getting HDR. Just confused? I’m more about picture quality. If I wanted apps, then as other say…one can get a nice rooted Android app that’s upgradeable for next to nothing.…But these reviews just seem to be incomplete thoughts. What TV would YOU buy in the “budget TV” for picture quality and that’s reasonably future-proof? (We budget people don’t buy TVs too often)
I buy this t.v. for my kids and I like it better than my sony tv tbh.… and I just pay $335.
How does this compare to the Vizio e series?
Man listen, it’s a GREAT Television especially for the price!! Hell with all but one all we have are TCL TV’s!! I’m definitely NOT trying to pay a crazy price for anything!! Again im more than pleased with this television
The HDR is not good on this tv as he mentioned in the video hdr is ok but not good.
How much better are the black levels on the competitors panels though?? If it’s super minimal than I really could care less when considering the $100–200 price difference.if it’s a very obvious difference then I might fork the extra cash.
Can it play xbox one. Pls tell me.
Junk
Is this a 4 series?
People complain to much, it’s a budget Tv, and it’s damn well amazing for the price actually
Thank you cnet I love you
I grew up with CRT 480 standard definition, the picture looks great in my eyes.
This guy complaining about the picture quality. I have a 1080 HD TV. Anything a step above that is good for me.
Coming from a 55inch LG 1080p HDTV to a 4k 65 inch HDR TCL, the difference is night and day! If your budget is $600, get the TCL. If your budget is over a $1000, get something else. You can thank me later!
Just got one for $265 Target
does anyone know how I can get a mo ie stream app on this ? beetv or any others?
I have that tv
