The working class and the employing class have nothing in common
An injury to one, is an injury to all
Wobblies united!
Robin Archer did a good paper on this, trying to ask why America was one of the only western countries on earth not to establish a labor party.
In 1868, Karl Marx (Communism) and Mikhail Bakunin (Anarchism) met with others at the First International, The International Workingmen’s Association (IWA), and discussed many ideas that we currently embrace, but which those running our societies want us taught to fear.
Union membership on a decline? That’s not good. We should not let the power slide back into just the employers hands.
Bring back killing your boss Infront of his family if you’re treated like a slave and underpaid.
Death of a salesman
History needs to repeat itself.
In the last thirty — forty years organized labor has been under severe attack by corporate politicians. it is time for the building up of a new and powerful labor movement.
Thank you for sharing this information. 🙂😊🙂

The only reason we don’t have child labor and slavery in America today, is because of technology, not the goodness of peoples hearts. If the world went back to relying, only on biodegradable fuels, slavery would make a quick comeback. Technology reduce the need for as much labor and women’s feminine hygiene products came along through technology, allowing them to get further away from home.
Help fight fascism Unionize and organized labor .
bro is literally carrying my social studies class THANK YOU!!!!
Historically the labor movement in Indonesia continues to respect the struggle of laborers in America. what a great sacrifice. Greetings from the labor movement in Indonesia
Unions
This will be truly repeated in the UK, sadly it’s over 200 years after the beginning of the Industrial Revolution.
All due to Brexit!!!
Tyrrany in the workplace! Now the only fair workers’ rights are in the European Union!!!
Notice how this corporate video is extremely short and hardly gives you any details. If it did give you the details, it’d might turn you into a leftist radical…like those workers were. Which is exactly what they don’t want you to understand or become.
The labor movement is what gave us the middle class. NOT capitalism. Capitalism gave unfathomable wealth to a small elite and poverty and misery for the masses. That’s not an opinion, it’s a historical, documented fact. Be a little more skeptical of the capitalist propaganda you’ve been spoonfed since childhood as an American. If the capitalist elite had their way, they’d abolish worker rights and any labor laws. Understand this.
New ways of “stake holding… benefit matter a lot.
I’m a benefit of the labor movement and Unions. I respect the history and the struggle.
Amazing how history repeats itself. Supporters of child labor are cropping up again just this last couple years.
Happy Labor Day
An end to the means and ways🎃headless horsemen💚🐲
Pharisees and saduccees had a union to their off shore bank accounts🎃
It’s time for a labor renaissance!
yessah
lol i watched this video as school work.…
Labor unions in many places are stronger than ever. I’m in California and a part of operating engineers union. Mostly heavy equipment operators. I’m getting $65 an hour, plus $5 an hour extra vacation pay. $10 an hour pension. Health insurance with a very small deductible. For me, I thank God I joined a union and my skill aa a crane operator keeps me busy.

You failed of course to mention that child labor was opposed by the Christian community
This video makes the labor movement some virtuous thing. It was riddled with Marxists. Many of whom came here in 1848 after failing to bring about a Marxist revolution in Europe.
Labour.
The Organized labour movement was long established in Britain years before it got started in the US. Trade Guilds and Masonic lodges were the earliest forms of Unions. It is surprising that a country, supposedly dedicated to the cause of Liberty has been so slow to adopt fair wages and work hours as a part of its mandate
The labor movement in on a decline because companies fear paying workers livable wages fueled by greed so they spend billions to break and brainwash the working class unions are “bad” now rather then give fair benefits they claim they can’t afford to pay more pensions are outdated meanwhile spending ungodly amounts to make sure you don’t unionize and giving themselves at the top $400,000.00 a MONTH secured pensions and benefits more for them less for you if you unionize it gives you the right to hold them accountable and collectively Bargain union due are a small price to pay I see it as insurance to be treated properly and provided protection from unfair labor practices
It’s unfortunate what has become of the labor movement today where the unions tend to be ineffective and bloated by their own self interests!!
The end of globazation is laughable how was America made and built .…If not immigrant than who ?????America is a corporation not a country, anyone can buy America and America must trade with the World in irder to be propersous.…. period
The 8 hour workday was won through blood
I am here because a question on this were asked in one of India’s toughest competitive exams for Labour Welfare
h
The history channel has a political agenda. Too bad. Good idea for programming but once again hijacked by the left.

Migrants come here and spread the Lilly of the fields story, prosper at minimum wages, struggle till they are either deported or so dirt poor desperate they steal, and beg for labor! Us, we are forced to do the work, no wages, no history, as they tell the story that never was! Our labor was not in vain, but migrants reduced our pay to under minimum wage, then get this, they call us slaves? OYE vey
