The labor move­ment is what gave us the mid­dle class. NOT cap­i­tal­ism. Cap­i­tal­ism gave unfath­omable wealth to a small elite and pover­ty and mis­ery for the mass­es. That’s not an opin­ion, it’s a his­tor­i­cal, doc­u­ment­ed fact. Be a lit­tle more skep­ti­cal of the cap­i­tal­ist pro­pa­gan­da you’ve been spoon­fed since child­hood as an Amer­i­can. If the cap­i­tal­ist elite had their way, they’d abol­ish work­er rights and any labor laws. Under­stand this.

Labor unions in many places are stronger than ever. I’m in Cal­i­for­nia and a part of oper­at­ing engi­neers union. Most­ly heavy equip­ment oper­a­tors. I’m get­ting $65 an hour, plus $5 an hour extra vaca­tion pay. $10 an hour pen­sion. Health insur­ance with a very small deductible. For me, I thank God I joined a union and my skill aa a crane oper­a­tor keeps me busy.

The Orga­nized labour move­ment was long estab­lished in Britain years before it got start­ed in the US. Trade Guilds and Mason­ic lodges were the ear­li­est forms of Unions. It is sur­pris­ing that a coun­try, sup­pos­ed­ly ded­i­cat­ed to the cause of Lib­er­ty has been so slow to adopt fair wages and work hours as a part of its mandate

The labor move­ment in on a decline because com­pa­nies fear pay­ing work­ers liv­able wages fueled by greed so they spend bil­lions to break and brain­wash the work­ing class unions are “bad” now rather then give fair ben­e­fits they claim they can’t afford to pay more pen­sions are out­dat­ed mean­while spend­ing ungod­ly amounts to make sure you don’t union­ize and giv­ing them­selves at the top $400,000.00 a MONTH secured pen­sions and ben­e­fits more for them less for you if you union­ize it gives you the right to hold them account­able and col­lec­tive­ly Bar­gain union due are a small price to pay I see it as insur­ance to be treat­ed prop­er­ly and pro­vid­ed pro­tec­tion from unfair labor practices
