What brought Solomon down was love of woman. He especially entertained the woman who worshipped different gods. God, who is a jealous God, wasn’t having it.
God likely made the ark no more, as prophesied in Jeremiah, since his covenant now resides in the temple sanctuary in heaven. The ark was never a magic charm, because faithful obedience and spiritual standing to God was what brought his blessings. That the ark physically exists and is guarded by a monk is possible, the Bible does not say what happened to it, but does not seem likely.
