Bollywood actress Vaani Kapoor, who is preparing for the release of her upcoming movie ‘Shamshera’, is very excited to be working with Ranbir and thinks Karan Malhotra, the film’s director, is a visionary storyteller.
Vaani commented: “‘Shamshera’ is a dream project for me. Directing by someone like Karan Malhotra, who is a visionary storyteller, is an opportunity no actor would ever pass up. “Luckily, he felt I was a good fit for the role. Karan is obsessed with his craft and the story he is trying to tell. I’m an actor-director, so I had a blast immersing myself in his vision and plan to make Shamshera a truly larger-than-life spectacle on the big screen.”
Discussing her pairing with Ranbir Kapoor, the actress added, “I’m also collaborating with one of the best actors of our generation, Ranbir Kapoor, in film. This is the first time we and I have been paired up on screen. I have my fingers crossed that people love our chemistry on film. Our characters have amazing graphics and I hope people love and root for them.”
The historical actioner is set in the fictional town of Kaza and will see Ranbir play the title character. Sanjay Dutt plays Ranbir’s nemesis in this major casting heist.
Speaking of working with Sanjay Dutt, Vaani said, “I’ve had the opportunity to work with Sanjay Dutt and I’ve been a huge fan of his over the years. I loved him in Agneepath. You’ll have to wait and watch out for him in Shamshera because he’s about to give us another villain for the ages in Hindi cinema. He’s just menacing and cunning and pure evil.”
Produced by Aditya Chopra under the banner of India’s premier studio conglomerate YRF, Shamshera will be released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu on July 22nd.
