New Covid cases in Mumbai fell further to 978 on Friday, a day after the city recorded 1,265 cases. The daily case count in Mumbai has fallen 22.6 percent in the past 24 hours. The test positivity rate (TPR) — the number of positive cases from all tests conducted — was 7.8 percent in the city, with 12,452 tests conducted as of Friday. The city also experienced two Covid-related deaths. A nine-year-old girl with underlying comorbidities of epilepsy and type III glycogen storage disorder succumbed to the infection.
Delhi on Friday reported 813 new COVID-19 cases with a positivity rate of 5.30 percent, while three more people succumbed to the virus, data from the health department showed. This is the second straight day that the daily case count has been recorded in the 800–1,000 range. With the new infections and deaths, the number of cases in Delhi rose to 19,35,687 and the death toll to 26,264, the health ministry bulletin said.
