Pakka Commercial with Gopichand and Raashi Khanna has fallen flat on its face and is heading for a disaster judgement. The opening of the film was weak and due to not so good word of mouth the collections have dwindled and the film will be out of theaters soon.
This could prove a boon for this week’s release, Happy Birthday starring Lavanya Tripathi and directed by Ritesh Rana. The director’s last film, Matthu Vadalara, was a decent hit and the same is expected of Happy Birthday.
The film will enjoy a solo weekend as Naga Chaitanya’s Thank You was postponed and Pakka Commercial would have run out of fuel. Conveniently, empty theaters would be waiting to greet Happy Birthday.
Bookings have opened for Happy Birthday in Hyderabad and what is encouraging is the smart pricing of the tickets. Premium multiplex AMB cinemas charge only ₹200 rs. Some other single screens also opened bookings with a maximum price of ₹110.
This is a good move by producers and distributors/exhibitors alike to keep prices within reach of the general public. The film is primarily aimed at urban masses, but with this pricing, even the masses could check out the film, which could help attract more viewers to the film.
It would be interesting to see if the film takes full advantage of this smart move.
