The Meta Quest Pro is a business-oriented virtual reality headset with face tracking and passthrough mixed reality, designed to kickstart Meta’s Metaverse vision. But with clunky software and limited applications for its big new features, it doesn’t capture the Quest 2’s magic. #questpro #meta #vr

Will legs save the Metaverse?
Damn the video in this video is amazing. Was it in house?
This product is an epitome of the general situation in the deep state. Collapsing into oblivion.
My biggest issues with this are the price, screen resolution, and marketing. First of all, the Quest 2 is only $400 and has a majority of the features of the Quest Pro, which is over $1k more. Second, why does the significantly cheaper Quest 2 have a higher res display? Finally, it’s obvious Workrooms VR is still in its infancy and the hardware just isn’t powerful enough to support higher quality graphics yet. They should have marketed this as a developer device to test and create new experiences and saved the rest for the Quest 3. I don’t think this will be ready for normal professional use for a few years, and even then, the hardware will need to be much lighter and smaller.
As a technology, it’s the opposite of the smartphone in regards to immediacy and accessibility. And why the hell would anyone want to have meetings with cartoons when video conferencing exists?
It’s shocking they released in this state. Seems desperate since their stocks been dropping
Lol, I wouldn’t say Adi looks “sleepy”, “stoned out of her mind” seems more apt. For what is supposed to be a “business experience” this is truly embarrassing, and makes me think Meta is “sleepy”
The best thing that could happen is that they crash so bad they had to split up all the companies they bought over the years. Instagram would be free again and maybe has a future a the platform they intended it to be in the first place instead of a tiktok clone.
Simply watching the videos recorded in the Metaverse, is making me go dizzy..
😵💫💫
Besides kids I have no idea who will use this ?
Yeah, I don’t see enterprise IT professionals wanting to deal with this headache to help support staff trying to use this for meetings lol
Thank you for the insightful review. I just can’t get my head around how this is supposed to be useful for anyone, especially for anything work-related when I think they’re trying to compete with meeting platforms like Zoom, FaceTime, Teams, and Google Hangouts. VR is interesting but I can’t see myself using it for longer than 15 minutes.
Meta is the funniest corporation🤣
Microsoft will do this better
I don’t love the cartoon aesthetic for workrooms. It seems like it’s good in a games setting but maybe Meta could make the workrooms feel a little different than Wii world.
I don’t have any VR, but the only things I currently want it for is watching movies and reading books. I love listening to audiobooks and reading at the same time, and the idea that I could do that in a giant black bubble with only the text in front of me sounds weirdly awesome.
The worst part is when you talk about 10 billion dollars it is everything- not just horizon app. While horizon app is very buggy but it is just one use case.
When will companies realize we don’t want the future they are trying to sell us.
Wow. This whole concept is the stupidest thing I’ve ever seen
So its basically not designed for people with resting B face
Hmm, I prefer Lawnmower Man.
I was really hoping to see recklesspatel make an appearance 😂
Apple has to come along to save the day with a built in M2 processor and great software. Meta should have just released a better Quest 3 with better resolution and those lenses from the Pro.
The premise that the vast majority of people would want to spend $1000+ and use these headsets instead of just regular video conferencing is tenuous, even if the experience was perfect. But to spend 10 billion dollars and screw up the experience this badly. It’s really hard to understand.
That Meta is sending this out for review is just more proof that some people are incapable of feeling embarrassment.
This video kind of makes me dizzy for some reason.
your talking head audio setup needs some work
this seems like a complete fail. i didn’t expect the quest pro to change the world but i also didn’t expect it to be a full on dumpster fire. zuck tried to force the vision of this utopian cyber office but really it’s just little fortnite turds griefing people
Good lord, what was Meta thinking, launching that bad of an early metaverse environment. Feels like they really poisoned the well for a long time.
too bad. im disappointed. I have taken it off my christmas list
I don’t care what Zuckerberg is selling, I’m not buying. Dude is a complete jack-wagon
This was a terrible review of the capabilities of the Quest Pro. Why only focus in one app? Why was none of the augmented reality features tested? Why was none of the controller features tested?
I would prefer something more non wearable and something more for business or education stuff but not for meeting and all that stuff
